Quick Question About Planning!
by Guest- 4 replies
Hello everyone, Just wondered, when you do your planning, do you put on the objectives from the grid (the points 1-9) or do you put on the objectives from 'Development Matters?' (Planning for F1 children in school) I know that some of these are the same but just wondered what everyone does? I'm trying to revamp my planning layout for this year and getting myself in a bit of a tizz! I want to really try and cut down on the amount of time I'm spending planning and have browsed the forum for examples, although I haven't yet found any examples of blank planning formats? Maybe I'm missing them and looking in the wrong place?! Help anyone? Many thanks in advance xx

Hi all I know saturday night nothing on telly so sitting here playing on the laptop and thinking about september. Anyway I am in Reception and have got the continuous provision up and running and think we have planning short term sorted. I've got our overall long term plan in place really just teh areas of ELG that we will cover 1/2 term. Last Year we had an overall topic area Myself adn favourite things, All around and Living things. We then mind mapped and got the children to think about what they wanted to learn. So we are getting there. We just need to now have just an overall long term plan for things like RE and mulitcutural (an area we do need to work on) …

Planning!

Hi all, Just wondering if you could help me, I have been thnking about this for a while and seem to be going round in circles! In september I am moving to a new school which is every different from the one I currently teaching reception in. Because of this difference I am finding the planning a bit of a challenge. At my current school we teach all six ares of the curriculum with equal wieghting over 3 days and have 2 assessment for learning days. We find this works well as the children are generally of a high ability and we feel they need some structure alongside their child initiated learning. However at my new school, which is in quite a challenging area this would be…

I've been a Reception teacher for a few years now and have worked with different people who have their own ideas about how to plan and implement planning into the classroom. For the first time in my career, I am in a one form entry Infant school, and am planning on my own. I have continued with my old way of planning and teaching, but I'm not happy with it. I feel it is too formal and that I put too much into it and don't allow for enough child initiated learning and observation. Unfortunately the head teacher and the Year 1 and 2 teachers in the school aren't really Early Years minded and are more interested in what level the children are going to be at the end…

Hello! I'm just starting to think about organising my learning journies for my Reception Class starting in Sept. THere will be 30 children, last year we used learning journies for each child... but it is so time consuming. I'm interested in the ways other people organise their learning journies for this many children. Thank you

Outdoor Area Reception

Has anyone got a tried and tested planning format for the outdoor area? I would really like to crack it next year! Do you plan for all areas, or stick to an area of learning? It must be very time consuming to ensure that all areas are provided for all the time, so wondered if it is ok to plan by area. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks for reading and happy holidays! Maggie

Fsp Scores And App!
by Guest- 10 replies

Hi Be warned it is the end of term I am tired and this psot may come out as a bit of a rant! I spent my previous two years persauding my head that FSP scores could not be used for target setting for NC levels in year 1. I thought I had got somewhere until today!! She presented me with APP grids all aligned to NC levels for reading, writing, speaking and listening, numeracy etc...etc.. She very nicely (I'll give her that), asked me to highlight where the children are on the grids using my profile information!!! I feel like I have worked hard all year to produce accurately profile score backed up with good quality observation and learning journeys all recorded …
