Hi After ideas again! Off to the park early in the new year with my reception class. Wanted to do some sort of linear map, ie collecting things along the way and perhaps recording in some way. Has anyone done this or have any other similar ideas! Thanks in advance!

hi there could anyone help me, i am trying to look for simple world flags to download and print off for a 'topic' in the new year. We plan to take a country every day and sample food from them. Basic ones really like France, China, Italy etc but I have been looking and looking on the internet and for the life of me can not find any flags to print off. Could anyone help please. Thanks

Hi Am starting a new job next term & have just been handed this pack 'planning for quality in the Early Years'. I know nothing about it & wondered if anyone out there knows anything (apparently it has been long awaited for this the county where I am to work, but I have just moved across the country & have never heard of it!!) . . . apologies to anyone who has already read this on the 'Introduce Yourself' forum . . . I could do with a chat/some advice from anyone who has experience of a mixed Reception / Year One class. I am doing my best to try and cover everything that Reception and Year One should be getting - but am having a real struggle managing to provide eveything Reception should have under EYFS and everything that Y1 should have under NC . . . and really I just want to aaaaagggggghhhhhhhrrrrr I am still in my NQT year (but not for much longer, 2wks in fact!) and we are expecting Ofsted anytime, so everything is a bit stressful at mo' anyway, but am constantly plagued by 'a…

Hi. I'm a student teacher, and I'll be going on placement in a mixed Reception/Year 1 class after Christmas. There are 11 Year 1's and 7 Reception children in the class. At the mo, the teacher delivers the whole class input with both groups, then the Reception children have access to the continuous provision while the Year 1's get more focused input. While the Year 1's complete an activity, the Receptions are called to do a focused activity in groups of 2 or 3. The Reception children complete one focused activity every day, alternating between literacy and numeracy day by day. Today the headteacher has asked me to complete an end of Autumn term mini-report for each child. She wants these to go out before we break up for Christmas. Does anyone else do this sort of thing? Target Setting In Year 1

Can anyone help me!! I am the Reception Teacher in a single form entry school. My last class, now in Year 1 are not a great cohort. There are lots of children in there with behaviour problems and quite a few SEN children. They have been continuing to work from the Foundation Stage Curriculum with some of the more able being given more focussed tasks. The problem is, the Headteacher now wants the Year 1 teacher to set end of year targets for all the children. Many children have not yet achieved NC level 1C and some are still only getting FSP 4 in CLL and PSRN. What do we set as realistic targets for these children? Hi everyone its quite a while since I have contributed to the forum- I do watch with interest all the discussions i have been looking through my exemplification stuff and hve realised that MEWAN should be about to publish their 3 revised and extended portfolio of exemplification materials for the EYFs Has anyone seen or know how to get hold of a copy. Do you have topics for your half term? Or do you take direction soley from what the children are interested in, if any one can describe how they manage their planning balance I would be very grateful i'm new to foundation and a little confused.
