Hello! I was just wondering if anybody has got to Phase 3 of Letters and Sounds yet? I've started to teach the digraphs ai, ee etc. Last year I followed the order of letters and sounds to a t but this year i'm thinking of teaching the alternatives alongside the initial digraphs that they say to introduce, such as ai, ay and a-e together. I know this isn't what Letters and Sounds recommends. What do people think? Has anyone else done this? Thanks in advance!

I've got a great little boy in my class who is fantastic at junk modelling - he makes all kinds of things and is really creative with the resources. He especially loves using the junk modelling materials to make costumes and equipment for himself which he attaches to his body, with any other available person's help!, by winding masking tape around his tummy. For example, he became a diver and made some underwater diving equipment by taping a huge egg box wrapped in bubble wrap to himself - round and round his middle again - the dinner ladies had to loosen it as he couldn't fit his dinner in! Today he was a policeman with plastic bottles and boxes attached to his tummy, ba…

Hi all! I'm new to the forum and am currently studying at Roehampton University (3rd year) I have chosen to write the R.E assignment, however I'm slightly confused as to how we plan this in the foundation stage! I've heard there is a framework but I'm not sure where to locate this? My assignment is to complete a medium term plan on celebrations, therefore I have chosen christmas! However, I'm not sure as to how indepth I should go! All my other planning for the foundation stage has always been creative and interesting, with role play etc, but I'm not sure how to go about this. I would greatly appreciate anyones help! =)

Does anyone have any ideas how I can make it a really good lesson as my HT is super critical. P.S. I am new to the forum and am not sure if i've posted this in the right place!

At the moment we're looking at night time and the dark. We've got a dark den with lots of lights and torches just next to the role play area which is a bedroom with night-time props. Anyway, the children are really REALLY into playing scaring games, where they're dressing up with things over their heads and making the children in the dark den (who can't see them!) jump. Hilarious for everyone, and also a healthy amd important way of exploring the idea of being scared, I know, but it's really loud!! - lots of screaming and on the verge of getting too silly, particularly for inside. I'd really like to find a way of planning for and extending this play, perhaps outside…

Hi All, Does anyone know if there is any national on entry data that i can compare mine with? My head is jumpy over pending ofsted visit and wants me to find out how we compare nationally. Not sure if this is possible but i thought i'd ask! I have FSP data taken from info given by feeding pre school checked against my own observations from first few weeks. So basically an on entry score of scale points for each child. Any ideas on where i would find similar data to compare with? is there a central source? Thanks in advance. Love the idea of this site x
