   HI I WAS JUST WONDERING WHAT PEOPLE ARE DOING FOR THEIR MEDIUM TERM PLANNING IN RECEPTION? I AM ALL CONFUSED. I KNOW THAT WE ARE NOT TO SET A TOPIC AS SUCH BUT I HAVE SOWED THE SEED OF OURSELVES BY LEAVING OUT THE STORY OF FUNNYBONES AND SKELETONS ETC IN HOPE THAT THEY MIGHT BECOME INTERESTED AND BINGO! SO THEN WE TALKED ABOUT THINGS BUT I STILL FEEL THAT I HAVE HAS A LOT OF INPUT. THEY HAVE COME UP WITH LOTS THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO DO AND HAVE CHOSEN 2 ROLE PLAY IDEAS. THEY DO SEEM TO BE INTERSETED IN THINGS THAT I HAVE PRESENTED TO THEM. I AM ALSO GOING TO MAKE MY TOPICS SNAPPIER AND SHORTER SO NOT HAVE 6 WEEKS OF KUW ALREADY PLANNED.    Hello there, I have been reading with interest over the past few months and finally joined this evening. Hurrah! I'm trying to develop a booklet or some such thing to record progress through their time at nursery. I am hoping to incorporate photos, obs, parent contributions and specific information relating to reception e.g early profile points - maybe a bit of highlighting...has anyone got any brainwaves about how this can be manageable with up to 75 children?!?! I've had a look on the resource library tonight and have gleened some great new stuff so thank you all!

   Hello everyone, This is my first ever post so hope I've done this right. Anyway,here it goes..... The week after next the whole school is taking part in a collapsible week with the focus of History and Literacy. I was wondering whether anyone has any ideas of what I could do for my reception class of 30. We also need to fit a bit of Drama in !(it had been mentioned about using an artefact to start the topic off, the teacher being in role and children asking questions about the artefact) I was thinking along the lines of pirates? but not sure. The specific skills accross the school is questioning. Hope you can help Thanks.

   I've just had some planning feedback from the head in my primary school and we've come to the conclusion that we need a different pro-forma for her to monitor my planning against than the one the rest of the school has (surprise, surprise!) Anyway, now we're both agreed on this, she set me the task of coming up with one. I thought about including planning from children's interests, balance between adult-led and child-initiated activities, balnace between indoor and outdoor... Do any of you lovely people have any examples you could let me have a look at? Thank you!

   Hi all, my first post here although I have read some fantastic things since being a member. I have a one hour lesson observation coming up in reception shortly. We can make the lesson anything we like, but they would like us to show them and 'outstanding lesson', so no pressure Anyways, I was just wondering if you guys had any ideas, I was maybe thinking along the lines of a number focus and pirates... but my mind could be changed. I just want it to be exciting, I am prepared to dress up,and go all out, but just feel a bit lost as where to start. Thanks for reading Jobee
