hello everybody! I would much apreciate if you can help me with some advice and ideas. I am working in the baby room... from september I have to do planning for my key children. Until now was the room leader who did all the planning. I'm a little bit scared as our nursery did not have an Ofsted inspection so I NEED TO BE PREPARED FOR WORST. Thank you! Livia

Hi What is the legality with regards to numbers? A friend of mine who is a nursery teacher has been told she will have 32 children in September. She will have 1 full time nursery nurse. Surely this can't be right, what does it say in the EYFS document?

Hi all I'm thinking of including my class more in the assessment process next year. Would like to hear their thoughts on how they think they are doing, what they think they would like to be better at etc. Also thought it would be great to get their take on my observartion photos and ask them what they would like to go in their 'learning journey' books. Does anyone already do this? How do you organise it? How often does it happen? Thank you

Reception To Year 1 Transition

Hello everyone I moved to a school in special measures and have had HMI and PER in...they are now due in November now!!! I am in year 1 next year. It's 2 form entry and we have an open plan class which is planned to be opened up. We have no Med term plans at mo and are following the QCA (I find it boring!!)!!! The plan is to follow LCP in P.E and ICT and Star in science and we follow ERR(Early Reading Research) in Litercay. It has gone really well in Reception in our school this year so starting in Yr1 next year....will learrn more about this in Sept!!! The plan is to be like reception in first term but the whole year to have it opened up. I can't get my head …

Hi, I wondered if anyone could help me. There's been a lot of stuff on here recently about ditching topics and going totally with the children's interest when planning, or doing a TASCy kind of thing where you start the topic but you totally take it where the children lead. I do this at the moment to some extent, but next year I'm going from being a jobshare to being full time again and would like to properly do all my planning this way. My question really is, how exactly does it work in practice? Do you get ideas from the children on a monday, plan for the week monday night and set it all up on monday night? Hi all, Am new to this so hope I am posting in the right place! I am a Reception/Year1 Teacher and as a school we are doing a BIG WRITING week based on the story 'The Jungle Book'. The book is quite a hard read so I have read parts (adapted it so it makes sense!) and we watched the DVD.
