Hi everyone. Our book for the week next week is 'Bears in the Night'. I've got lots of ideas for group and independent activities realating to the book, but I just wondered if anyne else could give me an idea for something a little more exciting for whole class literacy sessions than I've come up with so far!! Look forward to all your great suggestions.... thanks! Emma

I Can Statements

Hi Just interested to see if anyone is thinking along the same lines as us or whether we are barking up the wrong tree...just need some people to bounce an idea off. We don't have a nursery at our school and have one straight class of F2. Each child has what we call a special book. In this book we stick all our observations, photographs, comments and the children can stick in work and parents write in them too. This is a great record of the children's learning but doesn't give a clear idea to parents or children of where their learning is going. So... we thought we could develop I can statements from the EYFS. In order to make this managable we have highlighted …

hello, I am really struggling with providing independent activities for MD. My children don't want to help themselves to the maths shelf and I really struggle with what to set out on the MD table for independent play. I have tried putting things out that I have played in a focus group, but they're not interested. Please could somebody let me know what they do for independent activities. Also, there is only one child in my class writing during independent play. What do your children do during child initiated and independent activities across the areas. Please could somebody send me a 'day in the life' of their Reception class? Our topic is growing. Thanks very …

Eyfs Observation Recording Sheets 1 2

spent PPA time cutting and pasting for observation recording sheets for 22 monthsto 60+ months. Have to take time of today as well as my 8 year old son Luke has the dreaded stomach bug. So I'm very busy logged in to the FSF! have attatched the sheets if any body is interested. I have decided to begin to use them( as I am now in charge of Foundation) even though we were informed on the induction day not to use the EYFS if you are expecting Ofsted, as on the Ofsted site it suggests you begin to use parts of the EYFS but not the standards. obs_recording.doc
