Hi ! I once downloaded these very good documents and, if I am not wrong, I did so from here (FSF). The thing is that I don't know if I downloaded them all because I don't have some areas in the classroom (eg. Creative and Construction). ICT.doc Listening.doc Materials.doc Numeracy.doc Reading.doc Role_play.doc Writing.doc Could you kindly have a look at these documents and help find out who is the author? Or, maybe you have the complete set and can share with me the ones I am missing. Thanks in advance !

At my school the Lit and Num co-ordinators have asked everyone to complete their med term planning using the new national strat document. Normally we do not do med term plans but the co-ords have asked me to complete one as a favour, i said yes (none to enthusiastically) and planned to do it over the holidays BUT I can't find the format for med term planning in the FS. Any ideas?

Hi Hope everyone is having a relaxing summer. Cant help but think about the new term now though! Before the summer I found on here someone talking about doing a phonics/reading session for the parents. I dont seem to be able to find this anymore and am wondering if anyone has the link to it. I am hoping to run a session in September for my parents and was hoping I could get some advice from someone who has already done it! Many Thanks KT x

New Dfes Foundation Stage Framework

Has anyone placed this into their planning yet? I'm probrably thinking too hard on this .... but don't you find there are a lot of new words that place a slight shift of presentation .. but generally derive from the orginal document? Or am I missing something? At the school that I work at there is such a focus on phonic work & gettin the reading (& new handwriting scheme) that they're pretty much on top it there.(opinions differ on this as I waould love to work with continious provision & have no insecurities with taking the childrens lead). I find the annoying thing is having to rescript my planning with new objectives instead of having time to think cre…

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum so i am keen to get advice from other Reception Teachers. I don't know whether it is just me but I have been finding the dfes website a bit of a mind field regarding trying to plan literacy and numeracy for next term using the interactive planning tool. How is everyone finding this what are you doing for the autumn term? I have heardof one school which is refusing to start using the new framework until further training has been given. I look forward to hearing all your thoughts as I'm really trying hard not to feel too over whelmed by it all. Why do they always change it just as you have got everything up and running !!

Eyfs - Lots Of Questions!
by Guest- 27 replies

With the introduction of the new EYFS how is this going to affect your on-entry assessments? Previously I had made on-entry assessments based on the stepping stones: children who entered working mainly within the yellow stepping stones were working 'below average' (a horrible term I know but...), mainly within blue demonstrated an 'average' level of achievement and green+ demonstrated an 'above average' level of achievement'. I feel a bit thrown by the way that the new guidance groups things into months (even though there is overlap e.g. 22-36 months and 30-50 months) that don't fit neatly with how the stepping stones were arranged. For example, in the old Curri…
