Hi everyone, After having been observed by my head and slated for not stretching my class enough, I've finally got my self out of the hole and going to show her thats not the case. I love what I do but with a unqualified teacher (promoted nursery nurse). (NOTE I Love Nuersery nurses they do a great job) Whoses rubbibg my nose in it. I feel pretty low. I have a great class and great kids with great personalities. so I want to do the best for them and I know I do. We are in the process of redesigning our curriculum and we have decided to base it around the key skills however I am really struggling. I only have a very general outline of each of the key skills and these are not broken down into levels or anything. Has anyone done this abd would be willing to share how they went about it or has anyone got a really good book or anything that could help?

Letter And Sounds Staffmeeting
by Guest- 5 replies

Went on half a day training for Letter and Sounds last week, and finally got to see a copy. Went back to school and said they'd said this would have implications for the whole school. Head has asked me to deliver a staff meeting next week! Has anyone done anything like this? I've not got a lot of time (any) to prepare as I'm finishing off reports, finalising profile scores, having meeting with new parents, and receiving new intake, trying to visit feeder nurseries AND have a class assembly at the end of the week. ARGHHHH! Any ideas, suggestions, help will be MOST GRATEFULLY RECEIVED Harricroft

I know it is a bit cheeky but I'm in real trouble here. Needed by Friday for Head and Assessment visitor. I' up to my eyes with reports, e-profiles and getting ready for the visitor. Putting on a brave face but secretly scared witless!! Please help if you can Thanks Sue Jane

Hi, A parent mentioned to me that her child was asking about strangers and she wanted to know if we taught it or if she could get more informantion. I thought it would be a really good idea to talk to the children about strangers etc and maybe turn it into a mini-topic. How do others address this? I guess its part of PSE but how would you teach it? Thanks Rachel.

Non-topic Planning

At present we do all our planning around topics. Would like to get away from topics but am unsure of how to do so...the long and medium term plans are the most confusing. Anyone doing this and can give advice would be greatly received. Thank you.
