Hello all, I am being observed this week by the literacy co-ordinator and headteacher, the focus is on modelled writing. Our topic this half term has been 'animals'. I thought we could make our own class book based on the story 'I Love Animals' by Flora McDonnell. I am having trouble thinking of an inspiring way to introduce this during the carpet session. I would love to hear your ideas / suggestions for this book or any others. Please help, its the end of term and my brain is not functioning properly!

Does anyone here do the PIPS at the end of Year 1? If so - do you use any practice papers? Are there any available on the net? Or do you just adapt some old papers yourself? Thanks, Viki

Well folks...just gotto share my good news with other 'schoolies' (as my fiance calls us!) ....We are now an 'outstanding school' first one in our borough!! It makes you feel so good when all your hard work is recognised, wishing anyone else being O'd at the moment the very best of luck...be confident, keep your guard up and show em how bloody good you are! I am in the middle of my planning for next week and want to teach the children about camouflage. I have found some great websites to use for my carpet session but I am having trouble with the focus activity. I would like the children to create some sort of camouflage pictures but am not sure how to go about this. Any ideas?

I have found some really useful resources of exemplification materials for FS profile AAIA have produced and a small number of moderated writing samples for each point on FS profile from Devon LEA. Does anyone know of other levelled/moderated samples, especially for writing please?
