Help Needed With Daily Timetable
by Guest- 0 replies

Hi, the more I read about the FS the more I realise how much should be child-initiated. BUT we dont really do enough in our school but the children find it difficult to manange things with a lot of adult assistance. So was wondering how other schools for childrenwith special needs work their daily timetable. If anyone has a copy of how they split their day up it would be really useful to see. Thanks Jo

Evaluations On Planning
by Guest- 5 replies

I need some advice I teach in a reception class of 44 with another teacher who is an NQT. We take responsibility for 3 areas f learning each. I have always included a box on my plans for evaluations and jot down and notes and comments about how the activity has gone. We always discuss how things have gone in planning meetings and have talked about how important it is to write this on plans to remember for next time. However our NQT does not do this on her planning. We have now talked about it a few times but she doesn't seem to be picking up on it - and i really don't want to sound like i am nagging at her! I was always told that Ofsted would expect to see this d…

Short Term Planning

Hi, thanks to some good advice on here and a lot of fiddling around I think I like the way I have done the meduim term planning for next term (pretty much based on norfolk style with few bits for me). I just cant seem to come up witha good way to short term plan. I am still training so feel like a need that little bit more detail in my short term plans but want a way that will be managable as I'm teaching for 80% of the time (same as NQT year). My mentor suggested doing a grid with the 6 areas at the top and the days of the week down the side and just slotting in the activities that you plan to do that day but I'm not sure thats detailed enough for me and it still fee…

Thanks for your message. I did try to reply directly, but couldn't find where to attach the file. I change the way I do my outdoor planning every now and then, but at the moment they're only minor adjustments, so it should be similar to the one you've seen. I've included a sample of my indoor planning below (hopefully). Although, I usually have more out than is planned for, because we've got a massive room, and the children choose a lot of extra stuff. Prob should note it on the plans - but rarely get round to it. Hope you find it useful. Kelly Spr_2.3.doc

Hello everyone, I am sure someone out there can help me. I have recently heard of a reception class using a 'plan do review' cycle of learning. My deputy head thought this good for assessment for learning. Could someone out there explain exactly what this is and how to implement it in a reception class. Thank you

I am in the process of re-designing my literacy and numeracy weekly planning sheets as I am not happy with the ones I currently use. I would be really grateful if anyone could share theirs with me? Thanks
