Hi everyone. As you know we are busily rewriting our very dull schemes of work. What themes are other schools following? Ours are... Somewhere over the rainbow, whatever the weather and passport to the world. Its the latter one I am struggling with! Does anyone have any ideas for this topic please?

we are new to the forum and are in need of help with planning and timetabling for Nursery and Reception. What types of planning formats do other schools use? How are you planning your schemes of work? What types of timetables and routines do you have in place. Any examples of formats would be very helpful. We are awaiting an OFSTED inspection and want to know that we are on the right lines. Thank you.

Hi everyone I hope you can help me. I am currently about to start my six week block placement of teaching practice (I finished working in my Playgroup in June to start a PGCE in Sept), and I have to organise lessons and games around maths - well all subjects, but maths is the one that is most worrying me most The class is Year 1 (NI) so I think that is eqivalent to Reception in England. In relation to games I have to organise 5 different practical activities for 5 groups of 4 children on 5 separate tables, one day a week. The focus will be on Number 9 for two weeks, and then number 10 for two weeks. (They have to be table top games - I cant use sand/water/dou…

Hi everyone, After the first day back from half-term and nursing a very big headache I am questioning the planning and organisation of our foundation stage. I work within a team of five and we plan for separate english and maths for the nursery and reception, however, we are trying to integrate the children in the afternoon sessions. I am just not sure.... I have read the article on integrated provision as posted on this site, but I am still very confused. Not a good feeling when I am supposed to be the leader of the foundation stage!!! Thanks, Caroline

Overall Nursery Planning

Hello Everyone! I hope someone can help me, as I'm tearing my hair out at the moment! I have been made responsibnle for ensuring the planning is done in our room, but we have so many bits of paper flying around, that I'm struggling to keep up. We have a long term plan (which only states learning intentions for the coming year), a medium term plan (which takes 4/5 learning intentions from the long term plan) and our short term plan, which is simply an activity plan, plus a learning intentions sheet. I have to do outdoor plans and focus activity plans and to be honest, I'm not sure if it's right or if there is a better way of doing it. I'm regularly arguing with my …
