We discuss what our overall shared theme is and what we will be doing and where we are in our hours free-flow time. Otherwise as we are physically seperate the rest of the time the planning of enhanced and directed activites is largely left to each class team. As R I have more structured phonics, reading and maths to fit in amongst my play activities. R does longer hour…

Help. I'm busy planning for Ofsted week and my mind has gone blank for literacy. I know what I'm doing in most other areas although I haven't written it down yet. I am using the story of elves and shomaker as a 'theme' for the week. Our main theme is Clothes which includes uniforms, special clothes e.g for weddings, Christenings, jobs etc. In classroom we have already set up role play areas of shoe shop and police station so there will be lots of opportunity for structured play but I'm at a loss as to what to put down for my 'literacy activities' Obviously reading the story is one thing. I usually have groups doing a number of things e.g. with me reading scheme books or …

Hi everyone, I'm hoping you may be able to help!!! I would like a visitor to come in to school for my final teaching practice though I am unsure about arranging this. Do people do this sort of thing voluntarily and is it easy to set up?
