Hi all, sorry haven't been around recently- this PGCE course has well and truely taken over my life- as expected of course lol. Anyway my Year 2 placement went well (I didn't particularly feel I excelled but came out with lots of v v positive feedback so must have done something right!) but missed my play and the EYFS so much! Luckily, am back in Reception for my last placement (yay!) I need your help though please- I have to assess and then support a child with his counting (numbers to 10) with short simple activities over a week for uni piece of work to demonstrate our impact on learning, etc (albeit it will be v limited over the course of a week). Hi everyone I am rather lacking in inspiration at the moment due to various going ons at my current school! I have applied for other jobs and I got one of those letters which I don't like for interview! They are asking for a 20 minute activity of own choosing which is active and purposeful!!!! Twenty minutes not a very long time. Its for a class of 23 children and I seem to remember when was shown around that they said they had some autistic and SEN children. Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated!!! Having a brain freeze!!! Thanks

Hello everyone! I have been asked on INSET training to deliver 3 examples of using and applying activities that i would do in Reception, they can link to anything as are for staff just have to be using and applying focussed. Been having a really tough time of it lately and my mind is totally blank, any ideas would really be appreciated!!! Thanks,

Hi all Am finding that too many children are not where they could be in this area or staff are saying that have not made an assessment here. We plan for this every week so looking into if we are just not 'writing' the observations down as a start, however I feel the area/provision is boring. Can I ask what others do in this area? what sort of resources do you have as continuous provision? and inspired ideas that you would be willing to share? many thanks

Hi everyone, I was thinking about some exciting contexts to inspire my children's writing and mark making linked to their interests. I was just wondering whether anyone can share any scenerios they have created to spark my imagination? So far I have done.... -Got a friend to dress up as the ice man (white clothes, fairy lights, talcon powder) and he spoke on a video setting the children some tasks to do to set the good superheros free e.g. some superheroes were frozen in ice and they had to get them out, laser beams outside with wool etc. -Robin Hood left us a leaf covered post box and he wanted the children to write letters to him and he wrote letters bac…

Hi I was wondering if anybody knew if it is likely that if children meet "expcected" levels of attainment in the prime areas that they will be expected to be at least level 2 at the end of year 2. I only ask as I am finding there is a VAST range of ability within my children who have attained expected, from those who have just met the criteria to those who don't quite make exceeding. I feel a little nervous aboout how this data will be used to set targets for my colleagues. Anybody heard anything?? Thanks J
