I made this sheet with profile guidance and characteristics of learning guidance on 3 sheets of A4. Just saved flicking through lots of paperwork. Thought it might be useful for other people. It is just a cut and paste. Profile Guidance and Characteristics of learning on A4.docx

Hi, I've always organised learning journals by half termas it shows progression so well however, when it comes to completing the profiles it does make it harder to go through from the beginning finding the evidence for each ELG. I wondered if anyone else has started arranging them by ELG and cross referencing where appropriate. Seem to be pro's and cons to each way!

Interview for EYFS post next week

Hi everyone, I have got an interview next week for an EYFS teaching post, I have to deliver a twenty minute activity about anything to a small group of children. I was thinking about teaching about seeds growing into plants and what plants need to grow. Then allowing the children to each plan their own seed and water it etc. The only thing I am concerned about is fitting it all into twenty minutes. I think practical learning is very important though so really want to do a fun, practical activity. Any ideas, suggestions or advice would be very much appreciated!! Thank you

Having listened to Elizabeth Truss I worry that all the work we have put in to establish free flow and child centred learning may be about to be undone! http://www.nurseryworld.co.uk/news/1179282/ Recently moved schools and have just spent the last year convincing staff of the benefits of free flow and child led activities.

Hi was wondering what planning templates people use. I have just moved to a new school and have been told I can plan however I like. I was going to include adult initiated act, child initiated play, outdoor play, assessment/next steps. Would you put days along the top or just have the planned activities across the top for lit and for maths planning so can be more flexible? Am trying to set up challenges based on homes for yr 1/2 and get them to work more independently so it frees me up to obseve & help in the areas. Have read Moving into Ks1 julie fisher and loved that approach but after one week am tearing my hair out getting them to be independent and not ju…
