On September my Head would like my TA to cover my PPA time, which I am really happy about as she is fantastic. Only problem is shes only Level 2, not Level 3. Is this OK? I'll only have 15 reception children in my class and she will be supported by another TA. Thanks x

Hi, I am going to be applying for posts as an EYFS teacher. Does anyone know if they have specific questions they may ask an EYFS teacher at an interview or do they tend to be the usual general ones? Would appreciate some advise, Thanks Louise

Hi all, I downloaded some fab DM grids that had all learning areas on one A4 page in boxes with 40-60 months written in the middle and the same for 30_50 months which, we have used for tracking children. However we have a SEN child and was wondering if anyone had simular for the lower ages bands? Thanks all K xx

Hi I have just started in a new school in Nursery and haven't taught phase 1 phonics. It is a new Nursery and TAs not done Nursery before so very busy (more like a headless chicken). Can anyone suggest a phase 1 pack or anything that we can use for now until we can get our head around the phase. Need something we can access quickly and easy to implement. I have seen Singing Phonics that somebody has recommended. Has anyone used it or got any other ideas. Your help would be very much appreciated!

Morning Does anyone use 'fingertips' for assessment in their setting. If so do you know if they are bringing anything out for the new framework? Lou x

I'm looking for ideas on a writing, dinosur themed lesson for Reception. I am looking for something quite challenging as I have some good writers. It would also be good if there was some movement/excitement during the priming part of the lesson too! I'm not coming up with anything!

My school has recently moved to a new structure for long-term planning for my Reception/Y1 class. The idea is that for the first 3-4 weeks of each half-term there is a designated topic in order to ensure that the Y1 get the National Curriculum coverage they are meant to and then for the last 2-3 weeks I have a 'child-initiated topic' to allow for greater child-led work (I am still being child-led during the first 3-4 weeks but less so). I'm just about to embark on my first one and I'm nervous! The ideas I have so far are either something on bees - they have been fascinated by bees in particular during our minibeast work and also love 'Bee Movie' so was thinking of …

Hi everyone We have our SIAS inspection a few weeks into next half term and was just looking for some advise. We are a church of England school and our classroom has a strong link with this such as displays and photos. The part I am worried about is a 25min obseravtion of our religious time. Our religious focus this half term is 'where is my special place?' The first week we have lots of quiet reflection time thinking about parts of our school we like e.g a part where we can be quiet, calm etc. For my observation lesson I am planning on a quiet circle time and thinking about 'if i could be anywhere i would be....' and go around the circle sharing ideas with me and my TA…
