Hi, I am new to asking questions on the forum although have been reading posts for some time. I am really stuck and wondered if any of you great people could help me. I work in a reception class - I have a small (very small) classroom and a covered outdoor area. Although the outdoor is covered it has open sides and the rain and wind affect anything set up in this area. My dilemma is to provide a balance of indoor and outdoor activities during the winter time. Does anyone have any ideas. Because the classroom is small it is not possible to have every area covered all the time. I am really stuck with how to cater for all six areas of learning each day. Any help will be grea…

Just need a good moan to people who will understand! I job share a Rec/Y1 class (I started in September, other teacher has been there a long time). We do a medium term plan together, talk about what we'll do each week, then do our own short term plans. Anyway, class has been quite structured and I've been really pushing for the EYFS to be properly implemented. Thought I was getting somewhere, then went into school yesterday for a meeting and found Reception children doing a worksheet where they had to circle the objects starting with 's'!!! Hi all i am in a reception class and we currentlystop for playtime and go out with the rest of key stage 1. Children have access to outdoor play all day and so we are thinking of scrapping playtimes with the rest of the school. Does anyone else do this and if so how does it work for you? Many thanks Lola

On thursday she is sending the letters to those lucky few who have an interview for the job of reception classteacher. Hi We have started teaching the letters and sounds programme in our reception bases and I'm really enjoying planning, resourcing the 4 part phonic session. Anyone else doing it too? We are a four form entry school and trying to work out how to do free flow however we are stuck with the focus's do you make sure that all children do all the focus's or not. At the moment we have an indoor and outdoor focus going on which all children should complete. Just wondering if anyone has a timetable for a three or four form entry school which shows how it works and how you cover all areas. I have had a search but can't seem to find anything.
