Outdoor Area

Hi there I was wondering if anyone would be willing to post some pictures or give ideas of their outdoor areas. We are investing in a Foundation Stage area of Play, to be used for nursery, P1 & P2 and I am looking for some inspiration. We are going to hopefully put down soft surface over the whole area, and other ideas I had were to add a sand area, water, seating area, place to paint and be creative, maybe a wooden pirate boat or train etc. Plus to develop prop boxes for imaginative play, such as Shop, Builders, Painters, Dancers etc. Not sure of budget yet, but I think it might be quite substantial. I have looked at a few local websites (N.I) and a few schoo…

Hello, I am new to this forum - I am a reception teacher and was wondering if anyone had any ideas for activities relating to cities or parties. We do our planning from a picture, the children mentioned that they could see a city and perhaps they were having a party, so im hoping to do one week on cities and one week on parties. Thank you

Please can anyone help?? I started a Rec/Y1 job share in September and I am having a bit of an uphill battle to implement EYFS effectively. When I arrived there was no outdoor area and now we only have a small fenced off area, which I am trying to make the best of. Anyway, we had Ofsted before half term and the FS environment was one of the key areas to improve. The governors have all of a sudden got money to spend!!! The trouble is they don't have much knowledge or understanding of Early Years - when I have mentioned getting tyres and milk crates they looked at me as if I was mad! Does anyone have any photos of their Outside Area which they would be willing to shar…

Arts Mark Help!
by Guest- 4 replies

We are reapplying for artsmark (I know it's late!). Has anyone applied for it in this round and done the option where children are getting 'accreditation'? Does anyone know what this might be for 3- 7 year olds? (It has to be in dance, drama, music or art and done through school - we don't teach ballet classes). Any ideas gratefully received.

Hi, We're trying to revamp our outdoor area. It is a courtyard area shared between three Reception/Year One classes. At the moment we've got sand/water trays, play house, easel, balls, bats, etc. We want to make the area more stimulating and fun for the children to use. Does anyone have a list of resources they have for continuous outside provision? Thanks
