We are awaiting that call and as I the last inspection I had was under the very old regieme, I am wanting to check the criteria Mr & Mrs O use when grading lessons. I am sure I am fine (or even 'good') but I want to check what how they grade. I have found the blank forms (even a blank Report form ) but no criteria anywhere even with the help of google and the Ofsted website! Surely they must have one - we all have one for perf man but Mr & Mrs O must have one too. Can someone help? Cheers, Lx

I have to take in a plan for a reception class (any of the 6 areas) and be prepared to discuss the planning, how the activity went and the activity outcomes. Had my confidence knocked at my last interview, was told lesson really good, children focused and controlled behaviour well but did not answer 1 question in enough detail. need to pull off a good lesson and be able to explain the above points clearly. hope someone can help!!

Hi guys I have got an interview for a reception class but my interview is for children in years 1/2 (I think 12 in total) I have to teach a mental maths session through ICT - They have the ICT Suite booked for me. I was thinking of finding something on www.ictgames.com (Which I know for a fact they use in school - but they dont know that I know) Does anyone have an ideas, or websites/activities they feel would benifit year 1/2 children at this time of year? Its for mental maths. I was thinking of maybe starting the activity on the whiteboard and allowing the children to use their laptops to continue the activity independantly (So that they all get a …

I'm not sure if anyone can help but does anything know anything about the CEA? I think it is the Cambridge Educational advisors which my school has arranged to work with. It looks like we are in for major changes and I was wondering if I could find any information or examplers of their planning etc so I can start to think of some ideas before we have a big meeting with them soon. Thanks

Somewhere on my travels on the internet I have seen photographs of water cascades where drain pipes are attached to fencing in interesting ways for children to pour water down. Now I need to show someone what I mean so they can make one for us I can't find any photo's and wonder if any one can help?

Lesson For An Interview
by Guest- 5 replies

I have had a few interviews lately and been unsuccessful - although I have received feedback from the HTs involved, they have been positive about the lessons and interview (feel they may be being kind) but the job has gone to someone with a particular skill they are looking for I did not seem to have! However, I have never done a lesson at interview that I feel is spectacular - I feel they end up being very run of the mill and I get so nervous I often forget what I meant to do! I know this is a rather wide question .... but do any members have ideas for brilliant lessons to be done at interview or during an observation - any topic/theme as my experience is that Heads…

Hi - have done a forum search trying to locate a post which was started last week regarding timetables in reception - but can not find it for love or money! Anybody point me in the right direction. (i am looking for examples of how other settings organise their reception day/week as we are re-evaluating our current timetable. It's a long story (& one which is giving me a headache) but I would really appreciate any links which lead me to some other expmples which may shed some light for me. Many thanks x

Fit Persons Policy

Hi I am a reception teacher in a primary school with no attached nursery. We have several feeder nurseries one of which has just had an OFSTED. Apparently OFSTED was very keen on the nurseries Fit Persons Policy. I assume this is linked to safe guarding children and ensuring all those who come into contact have CRB checks etc. However I have never heard of this, basically my question is should I have one? If so can anyone point me in the right direction to get the relevant information. Thanks Jay
