Hi all, hope the summer holidays are going well so far. I'm back to work in a little over three weeks and have started planning already. Do i get a holiday at all I ask myself?? Anyway, I want to do counting rhymes with my children when I go back and i found a lovely video for "5 little monkeys sitting in a tree" it was a cartoon version where the crocodile came in and snapped the monkey. However, since then i have had to wipe my laptop and can't remember where i found the video. Does anybody know the video I mean or can you point me in the right direction of something similar? Thanks in advance Rachael

HI This is something that it has been advised that is needed as part of the EYFS and I was therefore wondering if anyone has a format for risk assessments that they have been using and has worked well during the last year. I am currently writing our outdoor policy and am looking to incorporate the risk assessment as an appendix. If anyone has any good links to any outdoor policies it would be much appreciated I look forward to any help

Hi everyone Golly I love this Forum, its so so addictive. I can'tbelieve I'm on it at this time ha ha. Just a quick question. I have been looking in the forums about continuos provision. And getting a little confused. I mite be sounding a bit thick here, but IA undersrtand CP is what the children can access all the time i.e sand, water, collage etc. Ive noticed people have done seoarate planning for CP, which looks great. Are you displaying these up in the setting for mr/mrs ofsted to see or do you just file it. Tgere was a great example of one on using Playdough not so long ago. Hope i have made myself clear xx

Hi all, I was wondering whether any of you fantastic people would have any ideas for creating a 'Stage' role play area? I am thinking along the lines of 'come and be a star.... ' with pop star/musical resources (inflatble guitars, flashing lights, disco ball, music et.) mixed with a hollywood theme i.e. direct a music video? win oscars for the best video etc. Any ideas? I have had the intital thought and now trying to expand it a little...... Thanks Tinky

Hi all, newbie here so not sure if i've posted this in the right place! I've been in doing the usual tidy up and sort out in my classroom today and am in need of some inspiration for displays ready for the children's first day. I'm not going too mad as i want to put their work up but just ideas for areas such as the home corner. What have you all got up ready for the children to see when they first start-i don't want them to come into all blank walls! So far i've got birthday balloons, golden rules and that's about it! Many thanks

Early Years Qualification
by Guest- 5 replies

Hello all! Just wondered if anyone could offer any advice....I am just about to go into my 3rd year of teaching FS and want to get an early years qualification as when I trained through the GTP route of teacher training, I was trained for 5-11 years and only really touched on FS teaching. I have been on lots of early years courses but would like to study for an early years qualification ASAP. Not sure where to go for advice and thought my early years advisor would be the best person but thought I might ask on here first to see if anyone else is in/has been in the same situation. Thank you in advance

Hello! Am busy going through my 'To Do' list for September and wondered if anyone can help! The head of the school I am starting in Sept is very interested in Accelerated Learning and Brain Gym with a view to introducing it to the school and would like me to lead - foolishly I mentioned things in my interview which I now hear I am being involved in next year but I don't mind as it is what I enjoy doing! I worked in a school where Accelerated Learning and Brain Gym was introduced and recieved some fantastic training over 3 days. I took this back to school and it was fab! Anyway, after a break from teaching my brain cells are a bit rusty and the squirrels se…
