I need some advice Last year when Ofsted visited they graded me Good. However they said the classroom environment could do with some 'de-cluttering'. They didnt like things hanging from the ceilings and said there was too much information around the room, which results in the chn not knowing where to go for key information etc etc etc. So i obviously acted on these recommendations and de-cluttered my room. We have had a visit this week from someone else who says the classroom is too 'sterile'!!! What are you supposed to do? What are your opinions on this. I'm happy to do whatever is going to help the chn learn and enjoy the environment in which they spend a huge amount …

Hi All, Do any Nursery and Reception teachers use a published Maths scheme, and if so which one and how would you rate it's effectiveness in terms of pupil outcomes? Thank you

planning

Hi, I wondered if anyone could help me? Ive just started at a new school and moved from a 2 form entry with 6 adults to just me, 30 children and 1 TA. I am enjoying the fact that I am in charge and planning the weeks but cant possibly produce as much planning as we did at my old school as I would be planning all week! I have just started this term with an MTP and was hoping that a maths plan and a weekly focus / activity plan was adequate. What are your thoughts? Anyone else on their own in a similar role? Thanks in advance

Recently received training for "talk4writing" so would like to build up some book resources suitable for this for my reception class. Wondering which books others use and which books you would recommend please? Thanks

Numbers for outdoors

I've made and double laminated numbers to hang outside but they are not really robust enough for the children to use. So thinking about buying some. Anyone recommend some please ideally 1-20? We do have the carpet tile numbers but we are looking for some that we can hopefully hang up so the children can swop them around etc! Thanks

Help me!! Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week we have been moved out of our room and into the Year 6 classroom! Our room is being redecorated, we have been without an outdoor area and a 'wet' area for 2 weeks while some structural work was carried out, leaving us with a room about half the size of normal, which has been quite stressful on us and the children, and now (at least 15 years since last time-if ever since the place was built!) it is being repainted. This is great, but 3 days in Y6 is not ideal! We do at least have a door onto a playground, so can get out a little! Any ideas?? We have nativity for 40 minutes (at the most) Monday last thing and first thing …
