I've just got a temporary post for this term, and we're looking at growing, new life etc etc... and decided to make a Garden Centre role play... however, apparently the RP area has never been anything other than a house. And here was me hoping to enter the store room and see box on top of clear box all labelled with different RP kits... hospital, vets, kitchen, GARDEN CENTRE! Alas no. SO basically, as I'm starting from scratch, I just thought I'd lean on your collective wisdom first. Thanks Porl

Hi, I'm in desparate need of a good activity for my PSED lesson tomorrow. The theme is working together- half the class are going to work with the parachute but I need something to give the other half in the classroom with the TA while I'm outside- has anyone got any tried & tested ideas- can be small group activity- just so long as the objective is that they work together to complete the activity. Hey This is my first post and not sure where I need to put it. So sorry if it is in the wrong place Just wanted some advice really...I work in a reception class in a large primary (2 or 3 classes in a year depending on numbers)!! Currently we have 2 reception classes which are both soon to be 30 pupils after Easter, however on Friday I was informed I was going to have 31 which if I am right it is not allowed!? The head has stated that she is going to put my new intake on a new register so it will look as though my class is 22, she has also said that we will get a part time teacher to help us 3 mornings a week but I think this will rarely happen as she will also …

Hi, I've just set up a Vet's role play area and wondering about a good way to introduce it to the kids- I've planned on working in there with them over the next few days but I wondered if anyone knew of a good way of introducing it genereally to the whole class so I'm not saying the same things to each group! Maybe a video clip? Also, about a month ago I was searching for dinosaur ideas & came across some photos of someone who had excavated fossils in the sand with their class- I've searched but can't find them now!
