by Guest- 18 replies

Hello My head was asking me today if the EYFSP can be used to predict KS1 SATS? To my knowledge we shouldn't use the FSP data for this. He says someone told him that you can. Can anyone clarify this and if the answer is that you can, how do you go about doing this? Vicki

Towards the end of last week the children in my class were telling tales an awful lot and squabbling. I intend to address this next week with lots of circle time. Does anybody have any suggestions of stories or activities that might help with this? Thanks in anticipation.

by Guest- 11 replies

Hi everyone I hope you can help me! I started teaching letters and sounds phase 2 at the start of reception and have hence now moved onto phase 3. The problem that I'm having is that half of the children are not really ready to move on to phase 3 yet, as they are unable to write down CVC words or even break down the words into Sound talk. The rest of the class have been ready for a long time to move onto phase 3! I am currently teaching phonics as a whole class, but giving the lower ability children phonics activities during their literacy sessions. I don't know what to do other than what i am doing, but these children simply do not seem to be getting it, and it is not fa…

Hi, I am currently trying to address the 15 hours entitlement in our Lower Foundation Stage (part of primary school) I am stumped as to how to cope with it, as there doesn't seem to be any funding to pay staff to stay later or start earlier? Also the planning implications seem phenomenal! Can any one offer ideas please!!

Hi all, do any of you have any reading schemes you would recommend? We currently have Oxford Reading tree and Rigby star books, and are in need of ordering more. We have ordered more of the rigby ones as they have some great non-fiction in there as well, but are there any other schemes worth looking at before we place a final order? Thanks! x

Italy

Hi everyone, Our school council have arranged to have a Round the World day to raise money for a school we support in Uganda. After lots of discussion, our class has come up with Italy as our country. Just about to trawl google, but does anyone have any tried and tested ideas for activities to help the day go with a swing, please? It's finishing with a display and food tasting in the hall, but I have a sneaky feeling that painting Italian flags and making towers of Pisa won't take much time! Thanks in advance, Tracylu
