The opportunity has arisen in my school to apply for the foundation stage co-ordinators job, I have worked in reception for 2 years now and have been teaching for 6 years and feel I am ready for the next step. I have written my supporting statement which I am happy with but am now stressing about the interview and what questions I will be asked, has anyone been through an interview for FS cordinator and if so what were you asked?? Thanks in advance! Catherine x

by Guest- 3 replies

I recently got a new job at a new school as FS Leader, starting from September 2008. The new parents meeting for Reception is this week and I have been asked to go along, chat to parents, meet staff etc.. which I have no problems with. The HT has asked if I would say a few words - any suggestions bearing in mind the HT will have spoken for 30 mins so will have covered the main points. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi there, Was just wanting to pick a few brains out there if thats OK! It has been a long standing 'tradition' in our Nursery that children would leave the setting with a Record of thier Achievement. Now that we are a unit the the tradition has continued and moved into the Recption class, but i'm wanting to update them a little and add in a few improvements and wondered if anyone else was doing anything similar. Previous things have included - My first Painting/drawing in the Nursery, photos of the children taken throughout the course of thier time in the unit, all of which we'll keep but I also want to improve the links that parents have with these and make it more…

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has an example of their foundation stage school development plan? I have just being asked to write one for next year. I know it will be very individual to my school but it would be helpful if I could see some of the things everyone else puts on it. Thanks everyone Ger

Hi We have a class that is not directly near our outdoor area and some staff are concerned that the ratios are not right when the teacher takes some children outside leaving a TA in the class room. How many would the TA be ok to have in the class? Sorry if this is really obvious but don't seem to be able to find it any where! Thanks

Dressing The Bear

I recently came across a interactive game on the internet and now can't find it. It was one where you had to dress the teddy in different coloured clothes and see how many outfits you could make from say 3 different coloured shorts and 3 different colour t-shirts. I want to do some probem solving this week with my children and thought that would be a good place to start. Does anyone know where I possibly find it or something similiar? Thanks. Bethie xx

by Guest- 5 replies

Our school are having an LEA advisor in to do a scrutiny of science work. Have been asked to send planning and books for all children. In the past we have had a general topic books for each child with bits of work in, but this year, for some reason we haven't done topic books. Lots of work on display boards and then going home, photos of children taking part in activities .... but no books! We found we were printing out loads of photos for books and that cost so much money. We have also previously had a book of photos for each topic covered with photos, examples of work etc, but again this year, because of the cost of printing we haven't done this. All I have are t…
