Nappies in school!

Could anybody point me in the right direction to find the most current information/guidance regarding admitting children into a nursery/school setting if they are still in nappies. I have found an Intimate care policy from Service Children's Education from 2013 - but it states that this would be reviewed in 2015 - i can not seem to track down an updated version. Would anybody be willing to share what poiciies do other school settings (with nurseries) have with regards to this? Many thanks

Does anyone have a horseshoe table for their teach focus table? Do you love it or loathe it? Can't decide whether to buy for our new building.

Hi all I mainly want to have a bit of a moan really but also want to find out how anyone else in schools buys resources needed on a regular basis or for something that crops up the week before you need it. We have a fund raising pot of money which we've done quite well at accumulating and were always able to purchase things from this (after being signed off by head/deputy) and then get the money back from school. We now have a new business manager and she won't let us do this any more. Basically we have to buy things way in advance which in Early Years isn't always possible and can only buy them through school accounts with companies (so costing twice as much as t…

I am creating this post as a curious parent. I have received a letter from the school my daughter attends about annual cuts to school's budget and just want to find out how other schools are coping with it. Our school is a very small village school with 7 year groups of approximately 30 children in each year. I would not mind paying an annual Gift Aid but worried that the further all schools go with finding their own solutions the higher chances that the Government will make future cuts. Why Education suppliers are so overpriced? The letter: "Dear Parents and Governors, You will know that schools nationally, alongside other public services, have su…

Hi, I have got improving writing on my performance management this year and I'm trying to improve the writing area in my classroom. Currently, they just go in there and colour and there's no real writing or mark making happening. I'm in the process of making some new resources, like mazes, sound mats and fine motor sheets but I'm just wondering if anyone has any fab ideas? Thank you!

Do people take their Reception classes into whole school assemblies? Is their a statutory requirement for this to be done? Can anyone point me in the right direction to find some guidance on this? Many thanks in anticipation x

Hi, I just wondered if anyone had any different ideas for teaching height. We've measured each other and recorded it on a height chart and made towers using cubes to compare height. Any other ideas would be appreciated! Thank you.

Can anyone tell me if in a school nursery (age 3-4) are the children entitled to a 'free school meal' under the Governments free school meals in KS1 scheme?

Hello I have been revamping my reception planning after reading Alistair Bryce-Cleggs books. Now my children have a break time and because of this are having a rolling snack before break. This of course interrupts their play and exploring quite a bit. I questioned whether the reception children could just take their snack out at break time like all the other children in the school. There was a question of is there health and safety that could be an issue with them choking? May seem a silly question, I generally do not know. I would like them to have snack at break to stop the interruption of it in their learning time but just want to make sure there is definit…
