Dear All, Does anyone know of a company that supplies benches for children to sit/stand in order to reach the IWB? I know that I have seen them in another school, they have two platforms with storage trays and ottoman type storage. The whiteboard in my classrom is placed at such a height where only I can reach the top, and I am 5ft 8!!. The children are only able to reach the bottom 3rd. Thanks Emma

Hi, Just have to say to someone I work in sessional pre-school at the moment the most children we have in per session is 9. Don't think we can manage any longer than Easter. We have tried everything we can think of to get more children but the hours are the problem. Do I carry on regardless and hope it gets better or leave a sinking ship? I am deputy but have changed all the planning to the way it should be and provided all the forms I think we should have, as it was ran on topics, and now she thinks it would be better if it was ran on topics but really we need to listen to the parents and take into account their views, but then it was said why should they tell me w…

Hi We are doing nursery rhymes at the moment and are problem solving with the children how to fix humpty after he falls of the wall next week, (using sellotape, glue etc. I'm now just having a sunday night worry about the raw egg thing, but as the activity is supervised and hand washing is a big part of it do you know if its still ok to use raw eggs? We have done the same activity with boiled ones but it doesn't stimulate the same language as raw ones!! Thanks

My colleage and I run a reception class and pre school in the same room. I am resonsible for reception and she runs pre school. So far this arrangement is working very well but we are having problesm with planning. On one hand our head wants to see the same plans for R and pre school but the early years people want to see separate plans. We have tried doing different plans for them- well the same plan with separate sheets but specific planning for either R or pre school. The trouble is also we have no planning time together so we do most of it over short chats over the course of a day and via email. Not ideal really. We have come up with something- that is to do a…
