Hi everyone Was just wondering if anyone covers Philosophy 4 Children (P4C). I run a few sessions last term which proved really successful. Our head teacher is really keen for us to continue with it this term as the Church Inspector was really impressed. Has anyone got any ideas for future sessions? We generally look at stories and pictures but am really keen to develop it further. I would be really grateful for any ideas! Thanks Vicki

Hi, in our setting we have a list of all the oxford reading tree books in the right order for band/level so that we can tick off which ones the children have read and easily see which one they need to move onto. However ours are well out of date and still have lists of 'Roger Red hat' books extra on. I was wondering if anyone already had a grid or list of all the books in order, to save me making one! I know it's a shot in the dark, but thought it doesn't hurt to ask!

Have been asked to help coordinate a book week across FS and KS1. We have the usual ideas of dressing up and having a visiting author although not sure if these will be used. We are going to have a story telling/ reading afternoon with parents to finish it off. I think the children could/should/ must make a book of some sort--KS1 are in mixed yr1/2 classes. Any other ideas that are tried, tested and easy to organise would be gratefully received!

Just a query really. Had a whole staff meeting with an advisor about success criteria. talked about having objectives for the day written for the children to read throughout lesson on board. I have done this with year 2,1 and it worked well. Did not do it in reception and have not done it in nursery. However, she seems to think that it can be done in reception and nursery as when someone asks them what they are meant to be learning they autonatically look at the written objective which apparently reminds them what it is even though they cannot read it! She told us that she has seen it done in these year groups and that it does work. Guess what? The head wants to see it be…

Not sure i have put this in the correct place but hopefully some kind soul will move it for me if it's wrong! I have 2 children in my class who are soiling themselves. One of them has regulary been messing himself and on occassions has done it ver last thing - not told anyone and has gone home like it. I have spoken to the parent on numerous occassions and they think he is worried about something at school, however we feel he has never been happier at school and we have spoken to him a lot about the issue and he insists he has no wories at school. He says he misses his brother when he is at school his brother is in the juniors. He also says he misses mum's boyfriend whe…
