Is it possible? or is there a legal reason why not? Any help either way would be fantastic. We are a PFSU looking to create into FSU this is one of sticking points. thanks in advance

Hello Everyone, I'm so sorry to come to you all with such sad news but I could really do with some help, support and guidance from you. Very sadly last Wednesday a little girl (4yrs) in my F2 class passed away. As you can imagine this has been extremely hard for everone who knew her both at home and at school. We have had to try and be strong for our children in our class as they have needed lots of hugs and support etc. It is her funeral on Friday and her parents have asked the school to say a few words and for the children to sing a song. Has anyone any ideas of a nice poem that we could read? We want it to be a celebration of her life rather than a s…

I've just found out that as of January I have 32 reception children in my class. To cut a long story short, I currently have a class of 16 with a parallel class also having 16. The teacher of the other class is leaving at Christmas. There is also another teacher going on maternity leave from December. As a school with have tried to employ 2 new teachers. The first time they advertised there was only 2 applicants, so they readvertised. Interviews were meant to be held tomorrow but we are left with only 1 candidate to interview as the others have all got jobs in the meantime. Assuming the other teacher's interview goes ok, she'll get the job to cover the teacher o…

Was going to decorate them in the afternoon. I have been told to do something with flowers (friendship flowers for anti-bullying week) Am also going to make frienship bracelets and fr…

Subject Monitoring
by Guest AlisonE- 3 replies

Hi I am interested to know what goes on in other schools - I work in FS2. One of our school policies is that subject leaders have to monitor teaching in each class 2 or 3 times a year. I find this a bit of a bugbear as very few of them seem to understyand foundation stage teaching, and don't seem to be looking for the right things! They expect discrete lessons in 3 parts etc and I aleays find myself having to explain how that isn't appropriate etc. Does anyone else have thisd problem ?? Do other schools monitor in this way? I'ds be really interested to hear.

Hi Is there anyone out there from Bexley, please? I would be really interested in how the skills-based curriculum is getting on because it strikes a chord with me and before I investigate further it would be useful to get practitioners' views on it. Thank you!

Continuous Provision In Y1
by Guest- 1 reply

Hi I've been asked to put together a support pack for Y1 teachers to develop their continuous play provision. I'm making a series of booklets relating to various themes which are taking small world figures etc as a starting point. I'm looking at developing suggestions for each area of play provision in the classroom which start with an adult directed activity but will eventually become an enhancement in the continuous provision - hope that makes sense! I'm getting lots of ideas but I thought I would pick all of your brains too as there are some fabulous ideas on this forum! I look forward to hearing from you! Topics are; The princess and the pea Imagination - i.e.…
