I currently make a banner on publisher or cut round wooden letters to make my display titles. Is there such a programme that you can type in the title eg Russian dolls and choose a font say comic sans and size and print out the letters to cut out. i realise a s I type i could do this myself but it would take time.I would also like jazzy prints and colours. I have used Sparklebox letters before and photocopied the extra letters...took ages Thanks Tinkerbell

Hi everyone, we are currently having our outdoor area re -vamped amd I am trying to source some good quality street and trafic signs which we can attach to the sides if buildings and posts. Does anyone know where I can get these.? Also if anyone has used any good tried and tested outdoor equipment(not the big stuff) I would love to hear fromyou. Some of the equipment in catalogues is not so great when you get it! Thanks a lot. PS Enjoy your half-term everyone.

Targets Booklets/cards

We have been using targets books in school during the last 2 years with targets for numeracy, literacy and general. These were written with the children and sent home for them to share with parents. As I have taught a mixed R/1 class for the last 2 years I have used them for Year 1 but only started using them for Reception in the 3rd term. The children have liked having targets but I would like to have a more appropriate target book for Reception to start this term with a few targets that can be literacy or numeracy if appropriate but can also be social, behavioural etc. Possibly something with teddies or balloons on instead of just writing. Does anyone have an example o…

hi. i am new to this site, have spent hours reading different posting some really useful ideas and help thank you. i am hoping someone can help. i am trying to organise our outdoor area a lovely large area but at the moment it just has a climbing frame in the middle and a muddy mound. i have managed to talk some friend into building me some raised planters. my foundation stage coordinator wants to buy lots of plastic roleplay equipment and resources - but i would like to use other things so the children can develop their own roleplay but not sure what to do. i just want the area to be used free flow and enhance their learning not just be a race course for the bikes. a…

I have had a heart to heart with my HT as i will soon be talking to the parents about the phonics/reading evening chat I will be giving. In the past we have talked about phonics ,we have always had a structured scheme (not as fast as Letters and sounds) and then talked about how we teach reading (searchlight method) So all change ,we have now bought guided phonic reading scheme ORT songbirds and have started guided reading with the reception these are the books I think we will have to send home. Old ORT will not fit the new way. HT said we should look for another scheme(phonic based) we have the money. I thought I would box up the old ORT and put in a cupboard (perhap…

Hi all, we were lucky enough to find a snoozing hedgehog in our play area today and the kids (and us adults!) were totally fascinated by the little spikey ball...so we're scrapping planning this week to focus on hedgehogs as the children are so interested...they made a mind map of things they would like to do linked to hedgehogs, just wondered if anyone had done this topic in the past and what sort of things you did with your children?? Thanks Catherine

I DO HAVE A FOLDER WITH MY CONTINUIOUS PROVIOSN ACTIVITIES IN FOR EACH AREA E.G. SAND, WATER, COMPUTER. BUT NOW I AM THINKING SHOULD I PUT SAND, WATER AND ICT ON PLANS- THIS IS JUST ABOUT READY TO FINISH ME OFF TO FIND AN EASY WORKING FORMAT THAT DOES NOT TAKE ALL WEEKEND SOMEONE HELP ME BEOFRE I GO MAD OH PS I AM IN RECEPTION WELL HE…
