Can't believe its that time of the year again, class assembly time. Was wondering if any of you lovely people had any assembly ideas?! Our topic this half term is 'Animals' I was thinking of doing 'Polar bear, polar bear what do you hear?' but yr1 are doing that so its back to the drawing board. We are going on a trip to the zoo next week and thought it might be nice to link it to this. Any thoughts?

Any ideas for a contribution to a whole school display on communication, in entrance hall, would be appreciated! Children could possibly decorate letters of the alphabet but not sure how to best tackle this so that it looks suitably impressive and like childrens work!

Hi there everyone, We are having a big push on reading at school and have to the conclusion that the home school reading scheme that we use (Ginn 360 - I remember reading this at school, when i was little) is not very inspiring so we are looking to find something to replace it with and have been asked to put the feelers out and ask what other people are using and how useful, effective and most of all enjoyable it is. Thanks Sarah xoxoxo

Creative Year Two
by Guest- 7 replies

Hi all I am moving from teaching a very child centred reception class to year two in september. My Head is keen to continue a creative curriculum in year two and we plan within the six areas of the foundation stage, even into our junior department, os i will be well supported in that sense. What i would like to know is if there is anyone out there who has managed to continue the foundation stage approach in year 2 and if there are any good publications out there that will save me from re-inventing the wheel so to speak. I am very excited by the prospect of doing this, but i want to do it really well so that we can justify using this approach. kellsa

Handwashing And Snack Bars
by Guest- 8 replies

I have children from 1 to 4 years integrated together, and would like to have a snack bar. That in itself is not too much of a problem, but what can I do about handwashing? I cant allow free access to the toilets as it would not be safe for the tinies, and the same with leaving a bowl of water out with paper towels - any ideas?
