hope you don't mind me sharing this but it was exciting for me and the class and made the moundfuls of paper work I was given yesterday in our School improvement team seem less painful but a child who is a selective mute in my class spoke to me in a big voice for the very first time today!! just before this several children had come up to me and said he had spoken to them in a big voice and they were delighted to tell me he could speak!! They were so pleased it was great to see the look on their faces. Then he came and asked for a drink - hooray It was fab I just had to tell someone!

so to put this into perspective... I'm also the ICT co-ordinator at my school and I wasn;t that impressed with the current plans for the FS, nor did the county have much to offer... so I re-wrote them all... and wrote some new ones to bring them more up-to-date with how good the children are at ICT now when they arrive ... I've written them on 'using and navigating the internet', 'stop-start animation', 'animating stories', 'photo editing' etc etc... we're really lucky that we have a 30 computer suite that we get t use twice a week so we always get loaads done with ICT! ... but anyhooooooow... just adding finer touches to the internet one, and wanted to add more sites…

Assemblies

Wahey - my children did their first ever class assembly today (was my first time too) and it was brill. They all looked fantastic (all had their face painted into bears) and did really well! They were so scared at first and it was just me and my TA singing but when they got into it they were great. They promptly told me that they were ready to do another Anyway - I have been asked to lead FS and KS1 assemblies from now on and my first one is Wednesday - anyone got any good ideas for this I'd really appreciate it. If anyone could reccommend any great books or websites then that would be brill. Thanks in advance Rachel x

I realise you could answer 'how long is a piece of string?' but I just want an idea of the role of the TA. I work for an agency and up till now have covered in playgroups and nurseries, but today they asked me to go to a school R/Yr1 as a TA. I declined because I've never been in a school and would hate to make a pigs ear of it. Suggestions as to what TA's in your school do would be helpful. Thanks folks
