Free flow curtains
by Guest HPS- 2 replies

Have been looking at free flow curtains as we are freezing in our rooms during free flow! Have looked at ones on TTS (see link) and was wondering if anyone has them/others to recommend. Only problem we would have is our doors open inwards so would have to put them outside but don't think this would be a problem - would it?? No reviews on TTS site. Any other suggestions to keep warm inside?!?!?!??! http://www.tts-group.co.uk/shops/tts/Products/PD1857219/Free-Flow-Curtains/

I do not like the currenbt system but have no idea what i would like!!!! so i would be grateful for any siggestions Thanks x

Hi all, I know that I've (sort of) been here before (much eye-rolling from you all, I expect!) - sorry! I would just like to know if anyone does creative/craft activities where all the children come and make a 'set' thing? I was under the understanding that best practice allows for children to be 'creative' and make choices, decide, change etc? However, there still seems to be a lot of settings (including my sons' school and pre-school, settings that my Nephew goes to, and schools where my friend's children go to) who have displays of 30 very similar looking 'products' or lines of children coming out with the same 'craft' idea. (and these are good/outstanding settings…

Questioning
by Guest florrie- 0 replies

Hi, can anyone help? I recently taught a lesson on questioning and used the 'hot seat' method using the characters from cinderella. The children loved it, taking on the roles and asking questions. However I did find that the topic was quite restrictive and the questions tended to be mainly 'closed'. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas on a whole class activity that I could use as a follow up to develop their learning and to encourage the use of more 'open' questions. Any thoughts, advice etc would be greatly appreciated! :1b Thankyou!

Cups at the snack table
by Guest- 13 replies

Hello all, I have a query about snack tables.....we have a open snack table where children can choose when to have their snack over the day. On the table we have jugs of water and milk and then fruit for snack. It seems to work well and the children are really good at pouring their own drinks, clearing up after themselves, washing cups etc. Today our DHT raised concerns about the children washing the cups; she suggested that there was some health and safety procedures/precautions that wouldn't be met. Just wondered if anyone else had children washing own cups? We don't have dishwasher or anything in school but we do wash all cups again at the end of the day. Do most …

Guided Reading in Reception
by Guest- 5 replies
- 5.6k views
Hi everyone, I was wondering how you undertake guided reading in Reception - we recently had training in school which as per usual gave great examples and resources for KS2 but not for Foundation Phase. Any help or examples would be greatly appreciated. My main issue is finding a balance for everything - I could spend the whole week with just numeracy and literacy at the moment with the pressures on standards but I don't want to revert to completely teacher lead learning!! HELP!

Hi, I want to show the children examples of real artists work, showing them a picture such as a Cezanne in a full screen image on the IWB a different picture each week. I am so rubbish at ICT. Does anyone know a good source of these pictures, any of the art gallery sites maybe? And then how do you extract the image and enlarge it to full size? Thanks
