My literacy co-ordinator would like me to do a handwriting assessment of all my children so she can get an idea of what formation is like etc.. so she can see what woud be appropriate for our age group to do handwriting wise. Does anyone have a handwriting sheet they could share - where children can trace over the top of dotted letters. She would like one which covers all letters. Many Thanks Lola

Timetable
by Guest- 9 replies

Has anyone out there been forced to fill in a "lesson timetable" for a reception class that includes times for start and end of lessons. Despite my protestations to the powers that be I am expected to not only fill in the damn thing but also stick to it. Am seriously considering alternatives to teaching.

Can anyone help? I have left my Lighthouse Keeper book at school and need to know what Mrs Grinling makes Mr Grinling to send in the basket - there is a double page spread in the book with pictures of about 8 dishes on it. Does anyone have the book to hand or able to remember what she makes? All I can remember is the seafood salad!!! Thanks in advance will wait with fingers crossed x

Since we have had the new January intake into the other reception class, my September children have reverted back to newbies! Not tidying away properly at tidy up time, finding it hard work to concentrate on guided activities, boys being too boistrous etc etc Just wondered if anyone could share any whole class reward systems that they find work with their class?? Thanks in anticipation! Catherine x

Plasticine
by Guest- 6 replies

Does anyone know where I can buy decent plasticine? The stuff I've ordered from a certain well-known company (it's the name of a county!) is either rock hard and impossible for little fingers to manipulate or is the modelling dough which is fine the first time you use it but after that it goes dry and crumbly - not very economical for the number of times that I would like to use plasticine! Playdough's all well and good but it would mean making up loads of colours and it's a bit too floppy for serious modelling work. Thank you in advance.
