Help me please!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have just found out my daughter will be in a mixed yr1/yr2 class next year. They haven't done this at our school before but because the numbers of children are dropping they are combining classes so they will have one class of yr 2's, one mixed class and one class of yr 1's. My daughter is just about to finish her first year in reception and has really done well. She is in a class of 18 children. Next year she will be in a class of 30 and only 10 of those are from reception. I am really worried how she will cope with this change and how schools work the curriculum. Surely the year 2 children won't repeat the same curriculum but does this …

We're having a theme week next week on sports and exercise. I'm trying to think of some fun maths activities - I thought based on the world cup but anything else would be welcome. Initial thoughts are to type up results from matches and accompany with flags (reading skills!). Then challenge children to find out how many goals various teams have scored (differentiated by higher/low scores) - did work on addition last week. by Guest- 12 replies

Rather last minute, but wondering if anyone can help. We're having RE observations done by our Headteacher who is also the RE co-ordinator. I'm the last one to be done - Thursday - and everyone elses has gone really well, they've all done really 'WOW' lessons, and I'm beginning to panic. Our theme is Jesus helping people and we've already done Jairus' daughter which the children have 'acted' out - with a great deal of prompting. We tried discussing how the various character would be feeling - but get the standard response - happy/sad. I had thought of trying to do another story with drama - 10 lepers, or Blind Bartemeus, or the man who was lowered through the c…
