OK- stand by your beds - the EYFS document will be released on friday 5th may, so look out for it. It is a DFES document so according to my source should be on the DFES consultation pages of their website. Sorry can't be more specific here. But in all eventualities it will have links from the standards site. Also copies are being sent to LEAs for consulting with all and sundry from their end. So look out for it and get consulting - they want lots of feedback. Cx ps have had a sneaky peek but if i told you how they might have to kill me....... You'll have to wait til friday

My head retires in4 weeks and has a sudden desire to have a clay tiled mural outside on a wall. This is all tied into our art week based on the National Gallery Big Picture. has any one done one of these? I plan to let each class design their own picture based on the 4 elements, earth, water, air and fire.I have chosen water for my r/yr1 thinking we could each make a fish tile and press patterns into them.We will have to get them fired at the local secondary school. Then I thought we could assemble them on a board with a lip all around and grout them in and do a mosaic effect ,with the fish and some glass beads(the type you put in vases)and mosaic tiles... In September we have a boy joining our reception class with a habit of biting. i have met with his keyworker form nursery and the photgraphs of the bites she has shown us are horrendous. At the moment he is being assessed for an increase in his statmented hours. He has severe behavioural difficulties. Basically i have never worked with a child who bites so often and so severely. Hi there I was just thinking about the things I need to get ready for my new class in September I have had just Reception this year and next Year I am going back to a mixed R/1 class. What books, folders do you keep for each child's work? I used to have Literacy,Numeracy, Science and handwriting books along with a general folder for all the other subjects. However, I was just wondering about having one large book and calling it a topic book. We don't do worksheets so there aren't any of these to file!!! Any thoughts would be very welcome please

I would be so greatful if some kind soul would point me in the right direction for some fruit & veg pics. I would like to make a picture matching game, laminate it and use it with the children. As it is Childminding week and a group of us are getting together for a fun day, I was hoping all the children could take 'the game' home. Thanks in advance, all ideas appreciated Cathy

Hi! I am going to be observed in two weeks time teaching philosophy for children to my gifted and talented group. I will be using a book called 'When the wind stops', it is about a little boy who is asking his mum very searching questions such as 'why does the day end?' and 'where does the rain go when the storm is over?' Do you have any suggestions on follow up activities after a shared reading session? thanks zouzou
