Team Teaching Literacy
by Guest- 7 replies

Our Literacy Co-ordinator - KS2 teacher - has asked if she can come in next week and team teach a literacy session as she has no experience of working with Foundation Stage. She has said she wants it to be 'fun' (isn't it always !!) I really want to show her what we do in the best possible light. Our current topic is Animals and we are visiting a farm this week, so next week our Literacy lessons would normally be focused on our visit - preparing captions to accompany a display, or making a book about our farm visit - though if she comes later in the week this work might already have been completed. We have a Vet's surgery and a Pet shop as our role play areas. …

Interactive Whiteboard Height

Hi, I am having an interactive whiteboard fitted in my class at the end of the week - yipeeee! I teach reception and was wondering if anyone is really happy with the height of their board, if so, could they let me know the measurement. Do the children need to be able to reach the top or is it best that they don't in case you want to keep things hidden? I really want to get this right as I want all the children to be able to access it. However, if it's too low does it cause problems for the teacher? Any words of wisdom would be fantastic.

Hi all Feeling really low at the moment and wondered if anybody had any advice to offer. I started my job in the Reception class of a small one entry school in September, the school maintains high levels of achievement and i was aware of this before stating at the school. The school does not agree that children should be observed as 'we are paid to teach' . They see 'playing' as kaos. The Year 1 and Year 2 teachers are in their late 50's and no disrespect to them as they are great teachers in thier …
