by Guest- 9 replies

I was just wondering how many focused CLL and MD activities your children do per week? I have only been doing 1 writing, 1 guided reading and HFW activity; and 2 MD. Should they be doing 1 per day? I just find it so hard to get through everyone. I have 30 children and 1 TA. What does everyone else do? Cheers

How Does The School Budget Work?
by Guest- 3 replies

Hello everyone! Just wondered if anyone could enlighten me. We are going to have a partitioning wall taken down over the summer to make one big reception classroom - which will be great! But I wondered how we can get new furniture and storage too - for September for our new intake. Can these things come out of part of the budget for 'buildings' or something, so I can ask the head whether it is possible or not? Just wondered. Thanks Viki (Here's to a new classroom....!!)

I might be completely barking but I thought it might be a nice idea if the children had the opportunity to bring their grannies and grandads to school one day.( to see how things have changed and such like!!! plus a bit of PR) I could get completely snowed under with grannies. Has anyone done anything like this or have any suggestions of the sorts of activities that we could do so that it is a great time for the children and grandparents alike??? Yours in eager anticipation M xxxx

I have never written a policy before and wondered if anyone has written a foundation stage policy. Any advice would be welcome - for instance what sort of headings should i have? Lola

Morning all I am feeling a bit disillusioned today - yesterday i spent most of the day trying to sort out our timetable and it left me asking myself - 'my god what are we doing' We have 44 children 2 teachers and 1 nursery nurse we operate as 1 class. Our day seems to be very rushed i am forever going home felling like i have rushed through the day and have not given children enough quality time. Our routine at the moment consists of 6 focuses through the week. Each week i do the literacy, KUOW focus. The other teacher does numeracy and physical focus. The nursery nurse does the PSE and creative focus. We have 3 sessions set aside each week in the hall wh…
