by Guest- 13 replies

I have just heard ( from a reliable source) but can't say who, that Lesley Staggs and others are currently writing the new curriculum for early years ages 0-6 yrs. Out will go the FSC & BTTM and we will all have to attend yet more training on the new curriculum The new curriculum will come into place within 1-2 yrs. So, don't spend too long re-writing what you do, just fit it to BTTM and then save your energy for the future changes to come. Peggy

How Many Focus Activities
by Guest- 7 replies

Now the holidays are ending I would really like some basic info to help me with my plans. How many focus(directed) activities do you aim for each week for each area of learning - F1 and F2? Do you differentiate between F1/F2 by stepping stones and do you allow for some overlap? Finally would you expect all children from that year group to participate in each task? I don't think I'm as bad as I sound but sometimes some plain facts help to see things more clearly. Thanks!

Just finishing off nursery reports for children going onto school, does anyone actually find these useful? Do they ever make it into the teachers hands? Or do they stay in some file at the back of the office......always wondered.

I am moving to year 1 after the holidays after a long time in Reception. I would like to know if anyone has any new ideas for self registration in year 1. I am very interested in multi sensory learning and i used to get my Reception children to write their names in sand, salt etc in the mornings. I would like to know what other year 1 teachers do?
