Hi there I'm sure I read somewhere that the Dfes of QCA have produced a pamphlet for parents about the Foundation Stage. Although I have phoned both today they seem unaware of such a publication . Has anyone heard of it or failing that has anyone got a home produced leaflet that I could crib? I was going to have a go at my own but don't really want to reinvent the wheel... especially as the weather is so glorious at the mo!! cheers all and Happy holidays!

In May it is the Education show at Manchester GMEx i go every year. I wonder how many others do? I was wondering if we could have some way of recognising other members so that we could say Hello in passing? some sort of insignia? Purely optional and no not a red rose and a newspaper. Any ideas or takers?

Outdoor Pe

I'm feeling a bit uninspired about this. We usually have 2 hall sessions a week one for movement/small apparatus and one for large apparatus. Our children bring plimsols in summer so that we can go on the school's field. In the past we have done a lot of running and track based activities to practise for a traditional type sports' day. Any thoughts for alternative activities? Incidentally the thread on hall PE is very interesting (we do group style), but I'm now wondering about that?! Free flow on our outdoor climbing frame doesn't cause problems. Hoping for lots of suggestions. Angela

I am just pondering the issue and implications of a child remaining in reception next September. A little one of mine isnt yet achieving many of the stepping stones let alone ELGs and at the moment the intention is that he should move to year one along with his peers. I have mixed feelings about this. Obviously I dont want to put up specifics on the forum regarding his special needs, but I have scheduled a meeting with mum after the hols and would appreciate any experiences, views that others might share on this one. Regards

Hi there, i have recently been told that i am moving to year one in september because of low intakes and am stressing alittle. I am an NQT, with with a specialism in early years (whist training for my degree). I also worked as a nursery nurse prior to training. Anyways getting to the point i love the foundation stage ethos and am worried about the regimental roultine of KS1-I am going to join a great year 1team who are looking forward to having my knowledge of the fsc as they have never taught here. However, i only taught year 1 for a short period during training and am worried as to how i can incorporate play and fun into the curriculum. I am keeping the same class, whic…

Can You Help?

Hi. Last year on my final teaching practice the Reception teacher I worked with used an old style register book (hard back with lines/small squares/room for names etc) to record various class assessments. She gave me one which I have found incredibly useful this year. I just want to track another one down for next year and I can't seem to find them anywhere . She has moved away so I can't ask her. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks, Emma
