I have been asked to move to Grade 1 next year and feel very unsure about it. I like working in reception and enjoy working with the foundation stage curriculum. The Head likes people to move around and cannot accept why some teachers like to stay with the same year group. I love this sight and it has helped me a lot and would only feel happy if there was a sight like this for grade 1 teachers. If i had problems then i know i would get some good advice. Any advice about my dilema would be appreciated.

Anyone out there an AST for Foundation Stage? I'm thinking about applying but would like to hear from anyone who has direct experiences to share. I have heard of some AST's being put into year groups where they have had little or no experience. I wondered of you apply as a specialist for Foundation then this is where you would most likely be used? I'v also heard that the government are changing the AST post to Excellent Teachers scheme... ho hum when will they every learn to leave something alone to get it enbedded!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi I was just wondering if anyone could help. I am doing the topic of fairytales and for Jack and the Beanstalk wanted the children to grow their own beans. I read the post about this a few weeks ago and can't remember if the type of beans was mentioned. I know this sounds really stupid - but went to garden store and they had lots of different types of beans and I just want to make sure that I get the right kind that will grow at this time of year. If anyone could help I'd be very grateful

Hey all. Happy New Year! Hope 2005 is a good year for you all. Am just wondering whether you can help me. Does anyone know of a website where I can get photos of winter scenes/children in winter clothing/winter around the world etc. I spent ages yesterday trawling websites, saving pictures, only to realise that all of them came out the size of thumbnails. When I try and enlarge them, their pixels go all rubbish, so they were a waste of time. I wanted to print them out too and they were useless. I found a lot of sites that were a bit useless, but I was wondering if any of you had a decent list of websites that could be used as a bank for all of us to use with…

Hi I have been asked to plan a topic on Dinosaurs for this half term. I am going to base it around the Harry and the Dinosaur books but could do with lots of help please. Is the Natural History Museum any good for reception? Too young? Should I teach the history behind dinosaurs? I know that children this age are fanatical about dinosaurs going by the amount of dinosaurs come into school for show and tell! We are also lucky enough to have 8ft high fibre glass dinosaurs in our school grounds. Any art/creative ideas? Please help! Thank you in advance.
