Child Safe Umbrellas

When it rains we like to going outside with the children to explore the rain/puddles! At the moment I use animal umbrellas that I bought on the internet. But they are not very safe and are falling apart (arms break and spikes of metal stick out). Has anyone got any good, safe, long lasting umbrellas that they would recommend? URGENTLY!!

Seems strange to be posting in this site- after being a nursery person for so long. But how do you you yr 1 teachers do your planning? how do you set your classrooms out. Do you still have the reading area and the writing corner for freee independant writing opportunties? Do you still do the numeracy and the lit hour- how has the transiion document affected your teaching? lots of questions for you to ansewr but i'm intested to see your responses. Its just that some schools say they have cahnged to a 'play' based curriculum but still have with all the heavy stuff of lit and numeracy and topics still being the main focus- seems to be like spinning plates. how do you do it…

help...mind blank....christmas....done cards..done calenders......now presents.... any ideas? last year i did a somple wish box with magic dust insdie...children decorated it and then put in a wish. BUT I cant find the poem that would go with it? I'm sure I had one!!! Other ideas really appreciated! Cheers

Hi I was hoping that someone may be able to provide me with some help. I have a 4 year old boy in my class whose behaviour I am very worried about. His behaviour includes; hitting, spitting, pinching, pushing and hurting other children in the class, breaking other children's models, stealing (classroom resources and other children's toys), targeting one quiet boy by leaning into him and calling him names. He also tries not to sit with the other children when we are doing group activites or the register and if he does sit with the class he is disruptive or gets up and runs away. I have a choice of a number or shape focus so I was thinking of a game of some sort involving counting and number recognition but I can’t think of an inspiring idea. Luckily I'm not back in the classroom until after Easter (Year R) and have a while to make up mind as to which learning to read method I will use.
