Sending Book Home
by Guest- 7 replies

Do you send books home for parents evenings? Had to send them home over the weekend - quite a few parents were obviously not very impressed - lack of work, lack of worksheets to make the work clear to them, lack of beautiful presentation. I go on and on about play as the children's work but still they ask me when the children are going to start doing work!!!! The most annoying thing is that practically in the same breath they're all telling me that they are pleased with the progress the children are making with reading, counting, writing at home etc etc. What to do??? Thanks in advance and Happy easter to you all. Lorna

Hi everyone, We've decided to have a vet's surgery as our role play theme this coming term as one of our PSHE areas is 'caring for animals'. I'm sure loads of you have done this one before, so ideas please?! I have a toy cat/dog carrier, a few stuffed animals, a doctor's bag and that's about it! Thanks, Jess

hi all, We've been here before I know. I'm having a few issues in school at the moment and want some "NOW" pictures of how you are organising and planning, operating during the day. On one hand I am being encouraged to operate in a very informal and play based way with integrated teaching focus times but on the other hand I am being pressurised to set and meet targets & produce reams of recorded work. We have had an increased assembly attendence imposed on us which my team members like but I find very difficult. Basically I am trying to reevaluate what we are doing in our routines etc. Thanks for your help! Susan

I am a final year student needing help with my special study about leadership in early years. I would be very grateful if you could spend 5 mins answering a few questions. 1)Do you feel confident as a leader? if so, how do you feel this confident was built? if not, why? 2)Have you ever had or been offered training on leadership? (please state name & comment about it). 3) Do you feel more support should be provided for leadership in early years? 4) How would you describe your leadership skills? 5) Do you feel your leadership skills affect your daily work? if so, how? Thankyou for answering my questions this will be very helpful!…
