Hi everyone, Bit of advice please... am reapplying for my job (maternity cover- to perm full time) Our topic this week is pirates and I have 20 mins to wow my headteacher. The subject is literacy. Anyone have any experience of using the new OUP/Richard Dunne's 'Maths Makes Sense' in EYFS? There is a resource folder specifically for Foundation - wondering how well, if at all, the approach dovetails with Early Years philosophy, and how well young children respond to it?

I'm just writing a curriculum bid for my reception year group for the next financial year. I've only been at the school since September and previously to that was at a one form entry school where my children had access to lots of resources, all the time. We have 5 reception classes this year and will be back to 4 next year. I wondered how others of you in large reception teams manage continuous provision? Can anyone clarify a disagreement about swimming duty? Is it legal for a level 3 classroom assistant take a school of 24 children on a bus to go swimming with 1 parent helper? Within the group there are 2 reception children. I would be grateful for some professional advise to help a colleague.

Hi This may sound like a really silly question and I think I know the answer but please share your views....continuous provision, what is it? Is it the provision of basic, main stay activities i.e. sand, water, role play, mark making etc and the development of the basic skills that these activities continously develop? thanks
