Hi has anyone used Pie Corbetts talk for writing. Can anyone explain to me what it is or point me in the direction of some reading to get me started? Many thanks X

Can anyone help? What kinds of activities can I set up for children to access independently that will encourage them to ask and answer questions? This is in preparation for writing information texts. Thanks Lucie

HI, we are holding an open morning next week for our current parent's, to enable them to see what happens in the classroom. Has anyone done one before or have any good ideas? I am looking forward to it, just wanted some ideas.

I'm in the process of updating and amending the field trip policy specifically for EYFS/Kindergarten. I know from last year, having had some over protective parents on a trip, that issues were raised and ones that are easily addressed with a few new amendments to the policy Do your school's policies cover specifically these areas: 1. Students on and off the bus - checking the bus after all students have disembarked. 2. Car parks - movement of students in and around 3. Walking pairs Do you have a particularly good field trip policy dealing with the younger students that I can read? The parents are easily(ish) placated, for the short term.

I'm really hoping someone knows what I'm talking about! I recently read about a storybook that could be used to work on internet safety with younger KS1 children. It's focus was about learning that you can't always trust websites and I think had been written by someone who worked with younger children but had found it difficult to get resources around this topic (possibly a teacher). I keep thinking about night hippos although I know that wasn't the title. I think it cost £6.99 but I have no idea of title or author and I want to look it up! Can anyone help? It's not Digiduck's big decision - I've just been looking at that one! Thanks

Hi! It's that time of year again! I actually quite enjoy it (maybe shouldn't admit that!) but sometimes am a bit unsure of how to speak to parents about the children that are slightly below expectation. Those that are significantly below seem to be easier as parents are usually aware. Many of our children that are below are summer birthdays so are only just below. What do you say? Thanks Green Hippo x

I was wondering how many EYFS leaders have time out of class to do their baseline data/moderation separately from their PPA time? Would really appreciate it if you could let me know as I haven't had any and have spent hours on this at home.

Hi I'm Preschool but looking for advice from reception teachers. One of our children who started reception in September is having lots of difficulty with pencil grip, pressure and control. He is just 5 has quickly learnt his letter sounds and is generally 'bright'. However, he is very tiny, about the size of a 3yr old, with tiny wrists and hands. When he was with us he avoided nearly all activities requiring a pencil or pen and would only manage a fist grip. We considered he was not physically strong enough and did not push the pencil thing on him but made finger gym type activities available etc. His Mum is concerned that the Reception teacher is pushing him to write…

We need to replace our forest school jackets and trousers and are looking for something warmer this year. Can anyone recommend a supplier? We want separate trousers and jackets- maybe lined jackets or 3 in 1s for our 3-4 year olds
