Hi everyone My Head would like us to start Home Visits for our next class of Foundation Stage 2 children. Has anyone got any good advice for starting this? E.g. How long should each visit last? Is it for mostly chatting about the child or filling in forms about the child etc? Would really appreciate your views and ideas before I begin to send out the letters informing parents. How do you word it in the letter that suggest you visiting them at home...don't want to frighten them off!! Thanks everyone Brownie x

WE are planning an extension to our front entrance, it is currently quite narrow. there are 2 toilets with 4 cubicles and 4 sinks and the pegs are in the classrooms taking up alot of space and there are not big enough. I know what I want to achieve at the end of the works; increased access, addition of more toilets and enhanced cloak room area separate to the classrooms but I need ideas preferably pictures of what works well and what doesn't as a combined entrance and cloakroom. I have an architect coming next week but your hands on ideas would be appreciated. s

Hi, I have been fortunate enough to be shortlisted for an interview and have been asked to do a ten minute presentation with the title: As foundation stage leader, how would you model effective teaching and learning. As I sit here gathering my thoughts and deciding how best to approach this, I wondered if anyone out there had any advice, ideas or suggestions that may help to focus my thinking It would be much appreciated.

Hi I have been reading the thread on children's safety knives (eg from 'Pampered Chef ''). We are considering doing a cooking activity in small adult led groups (max 4 children) (reception age) where the children will use real knives, graters and peelers to prepare vegetables for cooking. Has anyone got any advice on the use of these tools including sharp 'real' knives? I have read advice online which states its a great idea for children to use real tools and become aware of the risks and I have also read that sharp knives are less dangerous than blunt one and other advice which says only let young children use plastic knives. Advice gratefully received!

Hello! I'm not sure whether i'm posting this in the right place. . . . . I was just wondering if anyone has any examples or ideas of what a home - school agreement should or could like in Foundation? Or indeed any info on how I should go about putting one together - what it should include and how it should be set out in a Foundation Stage Friendly way! etc etc. Thank you, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
