Hi all I have just finished analysing our profile results for the year so far and at the moment children seem to be undersachieving in KUW and CD (Musical aspects) Part of the reason i feel is due to the experiences and provocations we provide in these areas. I owuld be very grateful if you could all help me compile a list of activities i can provide in order to allow children to access these areas pf learning. At the moment in order to meet KUW we provide Construction Investigation area Kiddy cams, remote control cars etc.. For cd musical we provide a performance area with instruments, cd's box of instrument in the musci area Any other thoughts, …

Hi - my class loved retelling the story of the little red hen using the actions and drama stuff as pie corbett does. Ok need your help - have so many ideas in my head cant think which is best. On tuesday we are having a school HMI visit - he will only be in my class for 20 mins near the start of the day. We are currently doing traditional stories as the children are loving them and loving being story writers! My question is what would you have them doing when he comes in. did think that our whole class time could be circle time "what would you do if you were goldilocks and found the bears cottage?" But he will come in as this is wrapping up so what would be a good adult led activity to follow on from this? Or do I do something completely different? We have set up a bears cottage role p…

Hi, I have a reception class where the majority of my boys are really lively and what you would probably call 'typical lads'....skidding, running around etc. However I am struggling with finding suitable activities to keep them interested and that don't have them running around the classroom after a few minutes. This is usually an issue during small group teaching time or free flow time. My girls are quite settled with creative, role play, construction activities. Does anyone have any activity ideas that may interest my boys while they are not having specific teacher led time? many thanks
