Please can anyone clarify this for me. How do you decide on the overall level for PSRN when there are 3 strands- does one have more weighting than the other? say a child is F5 for NCL, F7 for C and F8 for SSM, what would there overall FSP score be for PSRN? Thanks for any replies.

Hi All, I haven't been on for a while but wondered if I could pick your brains? I am coming to the end of my first year teaching Reception and I would like to change the way I complete profiles for next year. We currently have A4 books and use the LA grids with development matters and profile points to highlight and then add evidence for each area. However as I approach the end of the year, some children have lots more evidence than others and some books have empty pages! I feel there must be a better more efficient way to complete them and would welcome any advice. Thank you

Hi everyone Just a quickie that I'm sure someone can answer really quickly for me ... is there any difference between my hard copy of the Guidance dated 2007 and the electronic copy 2008? Things appear to be on different pages and just wanted to be certain that I was ok referring to my 2007 copy and I wasn't missing anything! Cheers Gem

Can anyone help me with how they or their ks1 leader trackes progress from the beginning of year 1? We are trying not to convert profile points into levels (eg 9 points being a level 1c) but everything we try doesn't work! My head needs to show progress from entry to yr 1 to exit of yr2. Are we missing a trick?

hey, just completed my data for this year and printed off the key questions part of TT. My data seems to be higher than the national average of 2009 (not sure why it isnt compared to data from 2010?!). Which is fine, as my class are quite high achievers. But am now worried in case they are too high? I am confident in my judgements, but dont want to make KS1's job harder.......? How high is too high? Has anyone else found this? was 2009 very low for the whole nation? Thanks in advance for any help! x

Reception Reports
by Guest- 0 replies

Hi all, Our new head does not want to write big long winded reports but rather send home the profile statements ticked/highlighted if achieved- I have no problem with this. We are going to add targets underneath each area- again easy enough to do. We are also going to add a gemeral comments box at the end for an overall summary. I was just wondering if anyone had a nice format by which they already do this? We highlight a smaller version of the profile poster but I am not sure that that is the nicest thing to send home. Any ideas gratefully received Thanks Natasha

Hi. Hoping someone can help. I am about to write my reports for my reception class and after alot of discussion we have decided to include the childs profile score in this report. At my previous school we always did this without any problems however my current head would like to include something for the parents to help them understand the scoring. Does anyone have anything they have sent out to parents or any idea where I could find something. Hope this makes sense!! Thank you

OK, my dilema is that during pupil progress meetings i am sitting with my HT discusing how many scale points is 'average progress', how many scale points should we see them attaining to be working above average or making above/below average progress. etc etc. I am sure this is wrong Can anyone tell me if they have a simple method of showing progress with some sort of value added (if you like) from entry and then per term. I just can't seem to get my head round this one! Luckily my head understands that because joanna has gone from 2 to 5 in writing between sep and january and they still have 5 now that that isn't necessarily bad thing but the whole system fo…

Eyfs Profile Evidence
by Guest bevben- 3 replies

Hi all, just thought it might be useful to get some feedback about what people do with the evidence collected for the profile. Currently I have A4 files for every child that have been passed up from pre Nursery to nursery then on to me in reception. The pre reception info is looked at over the summer hols and then put to the back of the file ready for the new reception evidence. I've kept it all together incase of OFSTED knocking on the door - which they did- and didn't look at the evidence much at all!! Do people send home nursery evidence at a certain point or do you tend to keep it until the end of FS?? Thanks x
