Profile Points
by Guest- 3 replies

I remember finding some video clips on one of the government/education websites which had exemplars of activities and a breakdown of which profile points they could support. I've tried typing various keywords into the search bar, but can't seem to find them. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, and where I might find them? Please! Harricroft

I have been told today that a child scoring a total of 91 or more profile points should be considered G & T. Any one know anything about this?

Does anyone know where I can find out or does anyone know how book bands match up with EYFSP points? I looked in the old handbook and it says point 7 matches band 3 and point 9 matches band 5 but that is all. Need some clarity!!!!

The 'average Child' And Moving To Y1
by Guest- 8 replies

here is something I don't understand, and I can't find anyone who does.. The 'average child' get 6 points in thier EYFSP in each scale. Apparently, children should score 8 points to be ready to work on the National Curriculum, so there is a gap. Now, I'm happy to recommend continuing to work on the EYFS, but Y1 teachers are confused by that being necessary for so many children. It is a bit odd, isn't it?

Special Needs And Eyfsp

Hello, I have a little boy in my reception class who has Downs Syndrome. His achievement within the profile is quite sporadic and it is confusing me slightly. He achieves points 1 and 3 for example in disposition and attitudes but not point 2 however he has also achived point 5 and 6. I know with a mainstream child they have to have points 1, 2 and 3 before they can get any furthur I was wondering if this rule still applies for special needs children? Many thanks

wondering if anyone can offer any advice- have jsut been visited by my LA advisor who has told me that chn should be expected to make 2 points progress a term. she also said they should be scroing 3 now on the profile. Having checked Eprofile my chn last yr made 3-4 over the yr- my head is now saying that OFSTED will be a problem because they haven't made good enough progress, however msot chn scored 1 or 2 in term1 and 6+ at end of yr- this felt like great progress at the time- feeling rubbish now can anyone help?

Hi My school uses the e tracker to record which profile pionts etc the children have but we also have a paper copy. However no one knows where this was got from and the paper copy is starting to blur as it has been copied so many times. Does any one know where I can get a new copy from. I think surestart has something to do wit it as their name is on the front but I have tried their website with no luck. Thanks

Scale Point 9 In Psrn

Please help me, I am in the process of assessing my new Reception class. I have observed that one of my boys has already achieved scale point 9 in NLC and Calc. His Maths is incredible and he is very quick at working things out mentally (faster than me!). What am I meant to do now? Should I begin to use APP grids? Thank you

Good morning everyone. PLEASE can some one help me. I feel so frustrated. I am not against working hard - but am beginning to come to the end of my tether. This is my second year in F1 - which I love! However, I am in the process of completing individual tracking and target sheets for the children that left F1 in July and are now in Year 1. Should really have got these done last academic year - but long story. I have read all the links that say we should not be using profile scores to predict Year 1 and end of KS1 results - but it's a waste of time trying to explain this to my head. She wants these sheets completed and I have to do them. I have been told…
