Hi there I teach Reception and currently complete the e-profile as well as the paper copy of the pink booklet(crazy I know, and twice the work - but useful for the next teacher to see). Will rec teachers be given a new paper booklet which starts from birth to 3 right up to the end of the f-stage? I am confused now! The e=profile just starts from the ELGs and there is nothing before that. What will reception teachers across the country be expected to fill in from now on? shoule I have received a booklet by now (for each child I mean). Can anyone put me straight?

Hi We are currently completing our profile judgments, but are finding that there are particular areas that we seem to be missing when completing observations. Currently we have an A4 tick sheet for each curriculum area, divided into the strands for each area where we tick off against names when we complete an observation, this generally allows us to see where we are missing observations. Then when we file the observations, we tick off against the stepping stones to show which ones have been achieved. After completing the first batch of profiles, I am wondering whether it would be better to track the observations initially against profile points, the thinkin…

Hi all - I've just been sent a very useful document from the National Assessment Agency (NAA) giving guidance to local authorities, FSP moderators and FS teachers. It includes details on how practitioners should use evidence when arriving at judgements and when such evidence need and need not be recorded. Hope you find it useful. Non-subscribers and guests can find it and download it from the NAA website by clicking here. FSP_factsheet.pdf

Can anyone help? How do FSP point scores equate to stepping stones? e.g. Which stepping stone is a child who has achieved point 2 FSP working at? Thanks everyone. Your posts have been so helpful!

Reports And Profile Information
by Guest- 1 reply

Hi all Where can I find a reader friendly leaflet or information about the profiles to give out with my reports. My reception reports have been designed in publisher in the form of a booklet. They consist of boxes for the six areas of learning, RE, behaviour and general comments. Within each box I have ticked either working towards, working within or working beyond. I need simple information explaining towards, within and beyond. We have given the profiles with the reports in the past and many parents disliked them. I'm trying to keep it simple.

Hello, Please could somebody help me. I am NQT and therefore, this is my first year writing reports so I'm struggling a bit. I am writing my section on PSE and want to write 3 lines on target for PSE. I have a child called Amy who is very able, mature and confident. She is an only child and is used to be around lots of adults. She has made friends this year but doesn't have one special friend and she does try with one girl but as Amy is quite dominant the other girl does not want to know. Amy does struggle socially and I want to write in the reports where it says target something about Amy needing to work on taking account of others views and feelings and being se…

Went To Moderation Yesterday
by Guest- 2 replies

Went to moderation yesterday and it was ok. One of the teachers on our table had been totally over generous with her assessments and didn't have any evidence to back up her decisions. I felt really sorry for her as she was in FS for the first time and hadn't had any support from her school. I had one child put up a point in KUW but that was ok as my other decisions were spot on and lots of evidence to back them up. I was more worried about this than ofsted as I'd never been before. Anyone else been monitored?

Hi, We have recently been moderated for KUW, and had lots of postive comments made. One of our areas for development was opportunities to allow more able children achieve or access Scale Point 9. I was just wondering how others approach this, and what kind of activities are used. Still quite new to Foundation, so any help is gratefully received. Annie1979
