Help Evidence For Profile!
by Guest- 9 replies

I am still in my training but the teacher I hvae been with hasnt collected any evidence across the year of the childrens learning in relation to the profile. She has marked it off (in my opinion not giving the children the credit they deserve-but thats another issue!!) but not linked that with any specific evidence. Since I sort of realised what we should be doing I have set up an assessment folder and started doing observations and assessments of the teacher directed activities but I only began this is May and I have only just got to the stage where I have split the evidence into TD and CI but not gone through and highlighted to inidcate what it is documnenting-I have j…

I personally feel that they have achieved well and I know I have read somewhere that the average is about 6 for most areas whcih is where they mostly are! Can someone give me some guidence please. I know there are lots of topics on here regarding scores but I would still really appreciate some help! Many Thanks

Hi Everyone! I am hoping somone can help me in some way!! I have got an interview next week for a job that I already do! I have to teach a PSHE lesson to reception. I am going to base it around 'keeping healthy' doing a thinking skills activity- teacher led , a making healthy foods out of playdough activity, and then i'm a little lost for inspiratipon... was thinking of a cut and stick- pictures of wasy to keep healthy? Just wondering if anyone had anything they could inspire me with. Was hoping to have an activity on the carpet. Feeling really anxious over the thought that I might not get the job I am already doing- just that it is nursery. Thank You

Finalising Profile
by Guest- 10 replies

Just finalising my paper copies(again) before completing FSP to send away and I can't help noticing how many children do not achieve the same points in most scales. Sometimes it looks like a pattern. - often a sequence e.g. children on point 6 have gained 1-6, or children on point 5 may have 1234X6. Do you think this is normal? Does it reflect what has happened in individual classrooms and would it happen across the country? Also not many who achieve 5, 6 or 7 have point 8. I suppose that's to be expected but it stands out for me. Also not scoring any 9s on KUW, Writing and Reading as has happened in the past. Will this be picked up on? I'm quite happy with atta…

Scores

Just scanned my profile for writing. Do the scores seem ok! A|lso with my other areas there seems to be lots of gaps. if I haven't highlighted a 4 but a level 7, what score do they get? Hope that makes sense. Also with some areas for example PSE I don't have solid evidence, but I just know they can do it - is that ok. I'm kinda looking to teachers who know a bit more than I do. Stepping Stones Profiles
by Guest- 3 replies

Hi just a quick question wondering if any one has heard of any software that Stepping Stones profile info can be put on. At the minute we highlight each statement in colours red, blue, green depending on term. post its are put in profiles as well. At the term end the Head wants all the statements totted up in each area of learning which i do in my own time on a home made spreadsheet. He seems to think some new software is out that might make things easier. Any ideas anyone? Cheers. Sue

Reports

Can I ask how many of you use the report for parents that the eprofile generates. I have had a look at it and it just seems so wordy producing a 4 page report. The rest of the school doesn`t produce this one so long for parents. what do others do? We have used for a few years an A4 sheet folded in 2 like a book with sections for each area of learning and the children draw their face on the front.

Moderation -

We have just been told that we are going to be moderated sometime in June. These are the things we have been told, they are going to look at PSE, Communication and Language, Physical. They will also be looking at interaction between adults and children, the learning environment, how the adults are used as well looking at evidence. Sounds very daunting and i feel very stressed about the whole thing.

We Are Being Moderated!
by Guest- 15 replies

We have had a call today to say we are being moderated on 22nd May. They have implied that we are being moderated as our scores were above national average last year - fair enough although our catchement is a very affluant (?) area and so we would expect our scores to be above national average. Anyhow they have said today that we are being moderated on Numeracy and Physical. We have lots of evidence for our points etc.. However with the idea now being that 'most' childrten will acheive 6 points we are woryying as some of ours have already hit the 6 mark. We feel we can justify this with the evidencewhich we have collected. We have been told that myself and the nursery n…
