Sorry... I think I wrote this in the wrong forum, so now I am posting it here since it is related to the Foundation Stage Profile. I thought you might be interested in this http://www.lancsngfl.ac.uk/curriculum/earl...ClassRecord.doc I found it some weeks ago and it seems quite easy to handle. It seems similar to another one that was recommended to me here. I am sorry I don't recall the name of the person who did that other one. Kind regards, SmileyPR

Hello I have Recieved an email (that i kind of knew would be coming) from our LEA telling us of a FSP moderation meeting for all schools in our Pyramid. they have asked us to bring with us examples of evidence to support the following FSP points: KUW - Point 2 - observes, selects and manipulates objects and materials. identifies simple featuresof signifcant personal events. KUW - Point 6 - finds out about past and present events in own life and in those of family members and other people she/he knows. begins to know about own belieifs and cultures and those of others. Have just joined this site and i have a query about the foundation stage profile? i know i may sound dim, i know what it is, but who should be using it, i run a reg charity playgroup, we have ofsted inspections and have many neg children 3 and 4 year olds. i asked the qca and got back a garbled message that didnt answer my question at all. i wondered if anyone has any ideas? is it just for reception units attached to schools and nurseries, or is it to be used in all settings that take neg children, i am sooooo confused!! can anyone help? kim

Foundation Stage Profile

I have just moved to a new school and borough. My last borough refused to fill in the profile as they already had their own in place which was working well. My new school has adopted the profile but recognise that the completion of them is time consuming. They intend to use the computer to reduce workload and paperwork. Hopefully by completing the profiles on the computer we can use the same statements to create an end of year report (although I feel the profile already serves as a report). However, I have not been able to download a useable copy of the profile from the web (it is a .pdf). Does anyone know if this is possible?

Evidence Requirements For Profiles

Hi all! I'll start by apologising for asking questions that may have already been answered before, but I spend so much time working on my profile folder I havn't got time to look for them! I was wondering how much evidence/assessment needs to be done for the profile i.e. does every single point ned to have a specific reference to evidence that the child is able to 'do' the item. Hmm... that doesn't seem very clear - what I mean is, say the item about "asks questions about how things work etc etc" in the K&U section - would you need evidence of each child doing this, or is it OK to think "I know that this child can do this" and tick the box? So far I have pr…

Foundation Stage Profile Moderation

I am an associate adviser in West Sussex and am currently carrying out Foundation Stage Profile Moderation visits. Because West Sussex did not moderate it's Baseline this whole practice has been something fairly new and practitioners have been understandably a bit anxious. The Early Years team that I work with decided that under the circumstances the most productive use of our time in schools would be to use the moderation as a tool to raise practice, not only in the consistency of judgements but also ensuring the judgements are collected in an appropriate learning environment. The system is running well, and I believe that in most cases practitioner do find t…
